Polumbus likely starting at LT.
Tyler Polumbus seems to be the favorite to start in place of Okung on Sunday.

Seeing as how Pitts hasn't been on the field much that's hardly a surprise.

Or anyone who started last season.
It's Great to be a Florida Gator!
09/07/10: Craig Terrill, the Brian Russell of Defensive Tackles, finally released.

Seahawks specialize in microfracture knee surgery patients preparing to practice soon.
Funny how they never seem to play on Sunday.

I think it could.
Especially because they did gameplan. Anticipating no needing to, but then sorely needing to, it could be worse.

Possibly, but while Seattle was gameplanning the Vikings weren't
Imagine Wrotto’s day if the Vikings were? Matt was already down to many one read three step drops. It would handicap the entire offense. Now the question is, is Tyler any better? I don’t know yet, but i would think so. He is tackle and not a guard and he did start 8 games at RT last year. They might have to protect him a little, but not like they would Wrotto, and that makes the whole offense better.

I dunno, what else could they do to get Jared through the chipping?
But I pretty much expect Polumbus to be somewhat better. Hopefully that’s enough.
I also, being one of the guys who still kind of liked Greg Knapp in some ways, think Jeremy Bates might be a bit of a wild card factor here when it comes to pass protection and how functional the offense may be with less than optimal protection. The system feels more capable of operating better under duress than Knapp’s.

Moving blitzes around and forcing the Hawks to stay balanced.
Since the Hawks were taking players out of the passing game to compensate for Wrotto the Vikings could’ve been more agressive with their pass rush.
Yeah they can send more guys in pressure,
and that can work against them. It works against us, certainly, and each of you have pointed it out. But from my perspective, that all amounts to a win for the offense. Neutralize the best player, forcing them to take guys out of coverage responsibility. Lesser rushers, with a longer path to the QB, to get pressure. So you have fewer weapons to work with, but that can be accommodated in playcalling.
If you gameplan around an LT deficiency and the result is that Jared Allen is neutralized and you have to worry about Ben Leber, I’m not seeing a problem here.

Maybe he will be a pleasant surprise from out of nowhere.
Like Brandon Frye last year, only minus the career ending injury.
What about WR?
It’s gonna be BMMFW and Branch, but does Butler start over Tate and Obomanu?
Has Tate done anything in the preseason?

I thought it was just me. Dear god is it so much slower though.
I really hope something will be done to fix that

Paging, Mr. Mogan...
Is there enough tape on Polumbus to project his play this Sunday? He started 8 games for the 7th ranked offense in the league so I think he has to be decent, no? I didn’t like what I saw of him in preseason but it was, admittedly, a small sample size. Any observations you’d care to share? His play will probably be the chief factor in W or L, IMO…
