.... I say when it is all said and done and Matt Hasselback retires, the Hawks need to retire good ole' #8. Before you laugh at me (and my previous statement) lets look at what Hasselback has done for the Hawks. Shall we?
- Matt Hasselback is the Seahawk passing leader. Hass has 29,434 yards in a Seahawk uniform, while Dave Krieg had 26,132 in a Seahawk uniform.
- Matt has thrown 174 TD's in a Seahawk uniform (with 128 picks...uhhh ouch).
- Matt is also the only QB in Seahawk history to piolt this team to a Super Bowl. And in doing so he helped break the Seahawk's 21 year playoff victory drought. The last playoff victory before 2005 was in 1984, Krieg's fifth year with the club.
- And my final argument is how Hasselback took the Hawks offense on his shoulder when Mike Holmgren publicly said they were going to throw the ball first in 2007.
You may have a poor opinion of Hasselback now, but find me a QB who has done more for this franchise than Hasselback. Find me a player outside of Largent, Hasselback and Walter Jones who have meant more to this franchise.
That's my two cents, what are your thoughts?
