Seattle Seahawks news, rumors, info, interviews, analysis --  from around the interwebs.

Moneyball in the NFL? | National Football Post
Early stages in Green Bay As vice president with the Packers, I was not a statistical/analytic guy but tried to create better cost-efficiency for evaluation and flexibility. My goal was to give us the most "bang for the buck" by using the considerable skills of our scouting staff and our financial and performance data for our maximum benefit.

Which offenses have improved, regressed - NFC West Blog - ESPN
The Seattle Seahawks are averaging 35 fewer yards and 3.2 fewer point per game this season. They were not very good on offense last season. Their defense is healthier and better than it was through most of last season, and the offensive line should improve with better health. Robert Gallery looked much better at left guard following his return from groin surgery. Max Unger should be back at center soon. The drop in yards per game is the sixth-largest for an NFL team. Their drop in yards per play (.5) is the fourth-largest from last season.

An end to a means
The surprising move of little-used tackle Red Bryant to defensive end last season is again paying run-stuffing dividends as he's back from knee surgery, and back to making impressive plays.

Seattle Seahawks Blog - Hawk Blogger: Golden Tate Making Most Of His Chances
Golden Tate spent a fair amount of time in the news last season for all the wrong reasons. There was The Great Donut Caper, being made inactive for the team's first game, underwhelming coaches and fans when he did play, and various Twitter Troubles. Pete Carroll built him up in the off-season, telling the media they would make a more concerted effort to get him the ball this year. Tate responded with a pre-season that had some fans wondering if he would even make the squad. Since then, Tate has been used sparingly. He is so quiet, some fans have forgotten him entirely. There is reason to believe that represents real growth.
