Post Your Hawk: Week 5
Seattle Seahawks (1-3) vs. New York Giants (3-1)
Seattle Injuries: Kam Chancellor S (Quad, DNP Wed.); Robert Gallery OG (Groin, Out Wed.); Anthony Hargrove DE (Hamstring, DNP Wed.); Byron Maxwell CB (Ankle, LP Wed.); Zach Miller TE (Knee, DNP Wed.); Malcolm Smith LB (Hamstring, DNP Wed.); Mike Williams WR (Concussion, DNP Wed.)
New York Giants Injuries: Prince Amukamara CB (Foot, DNP Wed.); David Baas C (Neck, DNP Wed.); Rocky Bernard DT (Ribs, LP Wed.); Michael Boley LB (Knee, DNP Wed.); Brandon Jacobs RB (Knee, DNP Wed.); Justin Tuck DE (Groin/neck, DNP Wed.); Osi Umenyiora DE (Knee, LP Wed.); Corey Webster CB (Not injury related, DNP Wed.)
My Hawk this week is Ben Obomanu. I think if BMW sits out, Ben steps into the WR2 role and has some nice catches to bail Jackson out. He finishes with 5 catches for 75 yards and a TD. However, the Hawks wilt on the road against a far superior Giants team 31-13.
Two users picked Tarvaris Jackson last week: Cj Klocow and colemania. Well done. And here's the link to the point prediction spreadsheet: Link. Remember to get your score predictions in, as you can't miss more than 25% (4 weeks) of the season and still qualify for the championship. There are several users already teetering on the edge of that precipice.
Who ya got?

Hawks 16 Giants 14
Defensive struggle….mixing it up a little bit with our lone TD being to Zach Miller who pulls in 7 catches for 82 yards and the score

Crap I forgot Miller was ailling...
I keep my guess if he plays, but if he’s ruled out I’m going
Baldy with 5 catches 76 yards and the TD
I’ll confirm once I figure out whats going on with Miller

OH and I'm choose the Hawks to win due to Eli & good defense
He’s gonna get flustered and loose his composure and implode a bit like he sometimes does

Miller fully participated
I’m sticking with him since he’s playing… 7 Catches 82 Yards and a TD

How can he put up those numbers if he blocks almost every play?
by StealthHawk on Oct 6, 2011 7:08 PM PDT via mobile up reply actions
Actually...
He only stayed in to block three times in passing situations against the Falcons.
They will put an emphasis on using him in the offense this week
Obviously he’s done jack up until now, but he’s still an awesome TE… and I’m thinking & hoping they’ll give our offense a jumpstart and surprise the Giants by utilizing him a lot more than we have thus far.
Like his lost TD last week…tough break, but shows he can work the field and get open and do damage…. think they’ll emphasize that and bring a new look to the offense this week.

Doug Baldwin
5 catches for 50 yard and a TD. Here’s hoping that Tarvarious doesn’t try to get him killed like he did last week.
Giants 27-13
"You SUCK, Keary Colbert! You should be selling insurance. INSURANCE, Keary!

It's Great To Be a Florida Gator!
Chris Clemons
1 sack, 2 FF, 6 tackles.
Giants 41 Seahawks 13
Until I see otherwise, Seattle will probably get blown out in all of their road games.
I respect your opinion even though it's wrong.
I'm gonna go with Doug Baldwin too...
4 catches, 60 yards. Unfortunately TJ gets sacked 256 times, causing the sack totals to flip over and record only 1 sack on him for the game. Giants 31, Seattle 7.
"It's okay to have an open mind, just not so open that your brains fall out." - Carl Sagan (well, a lot of guys)
Earl Thomas
E.T. gets a pick and seems to be in on almost every play. Damn he’s good!
The Seahawks move the ball some but have to settle for mostly field goals.
Seahawks 16
Giansts 27
Another loss but continued improvement.
Eternal Seahawk Optimist since 1976
Leon Washington
Gets a PR for 64 yds and TD
Tjack doesnt have the game like he did at home but still threw for over 200 yds and a TD
Run game seems to be getting better each week including a great 35 yd run by Leon.
Giants win
24-21
Leroy Hill 8 tackles, 1 FF
The Giants run almost exclusively to the right side supposedly, so that means a lot of work for Leroy.
Seahawks 17- 14 Giants

SEA 10 NYG 17
Jon Ryan averages 50 yds on 8 punts with a long of 70 and helps keep the defense in the game with good field position.

Russell Okung
shows us why we love him so much. Holds his own the whole night, allowing no sacks, penalties, and allowing Lynch to pile up some yards running left, including several successful short yardage scenarios.
Despite that, Hawks defense gets torched by Hakeem Nicks and Hawks lose 24-14.
Golden Tate.
4 recs 35 yds and a TD. That’s a pretty big day for him right?
I got chris Clemons!
2 sacks 1 forced fumble :) hawks lose 31-17

Seahawks lose 38-24
Tarvaris: 280 yards with 3 TD and 3 INT.
Marshawn runs one in from the goal line.
Seattle hangs in it at first but it gets out of hand in the second half.
/facepalm
I no can add maths. That was supposed to be Tarvaris with 2 TD and 3 INT.

Doug Baldwin
7 catches, 84 yards. Three 3rd down conversions.
Giants win 37, Seahawks 17
Doug Baldwin
The steal of undrafted free agency flashes his skills once again. 5 catches, 70 yards and a score.
Sadly the Hawks still lose 34-13
Aaron Curry
more inspired apeshit play from Curry. 8 tackles.
Giants 38 – Seahawks 17
70% of space is covered by dark matter, the rest by ET.
Tarvaris Jackson
with run game still a no go, TJ lets the haters hate and exploits a weakened NYG secondary ….when we are allowed the ball. 29 of 38, 303 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT (one being the inevitable half-ending hail mary).
Giants win 28-27.
Difference is that Giants had to come back on a final drive to beat us.
Leon Washington. 80 return yards. 20 rushing yards. 1 TD
Eternally looking forward to someone making a Seahawks song based off of Lil' Jon's "Shots" song named "Hawks!"
Kam Chancellor
KamBam returns to the field with a vengeance. 8 tackles, 1 int. TJax is a close second with another solid game: 2TD passes, 18-25 280yd, no INT.
G-men 24-17.
David Hawthorne
11 tackles, a sack, and a FF
Seahawks lose 28-10
Marshawn Lynch
But only because he busts one late after a frustrating start. We’ll all type “BEAST MODE” at once as he goes for 85 and 1 TD, with one run of 35+ yards.
I think NYG is ripe for an upset. 23-20 Hawks.
Hill
10 tackles and 1 FF.
Tate’s first 100yd game and 2TD.
Hawks in a blow out 41-14….I said it BLOW OUT!
Zach Miller, 6 catches 72 yards. 1 TD.
Hawks lose 34-17
If you're a fan of basketball, watch a movie called Sonicsgate. It's free, just google it.
2011 Vancouver Canucks - The closest feeling to winning I've ever had.
David Hawthorne
He wakes up and starts to play like best LB on thus team as in years past. 10 tackles, 2 for a loss and he keeps the team in the first half by leading the defense.
Second half tires them out and Giants pull away 24-6.

If Hauschka hits an 87 yarder I quit

DBFresh (Baldwin) with 6 Catches, 1 TD for 87 yards.

Futurely known as BundyBundyBear (Aussie homer).
Gettin' wild with this one.
Brandon Browner. 7 tackles, 1FF.
Seahawks lose 31-10.
I'm kind of a big deal...
Sidney Rice
8 Catches, 106 Yards and a TD
Giants-34
Seahawks-20
Charlie Whitehurst
Comes in to replace the injured Jackson after his fifth first half sack knocks him out of the game. Whitehurst passes his way to 200 yards and 2 TDs to keep the game interesting.
28 – 17
hawks 21-13
D gets in Eli’s head early, Jackson spreads the ball and NY can’t keep the right guy covered. Lynch breaks one but 15 is my Hawk on this day… 4 rec for 87yds, 1 big YAC TD. Oh yeah, Okung shuts his guy down all day.
I know… I shouldn’t be so vague.

Leon W because
Marshawn goes 17 carries for 12 yards, Forsett barely touches the ball, and there won’t be enough time for Jackson to set his feet for a pass of more than 10 yards.
But Leon goes all Matt Forte on the Giants and catches 7 passes for 140 yards and a TD and has one kick/punt return for a TD.
Giants 37, Hawks 27 – a success for the hawks by putting up 20 offensive points on the road against a strong pass rush
Smashmouth is the new sexy!
but my dark horse candidate is Jameson Konz, activate for special teams, who...
racks up 1.5 sacks, 2 qb hits, and 1 TFL as the Leo and has 2 receptions for 7 yards and 2 TDs playing at H-back.
Smashmouth is the new sexy!
Okung.
Pancakes Osi into next week on a crucial third down….to prevent a full blown blowout. Giants win 28-14.
carpenter
fumble recovery for a td. portis throws for 8 touchdowns, baldwin catches half, durham the other.
seahawks win 77 to 0.
Watching the Seahawks is like peeing on yourself, everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling it brings

Ben Obomanu
Giants will be playing up on Sidney which allows Ben to get open, nabs 9 Receptions for 105 Yards and 2 TD’s Seahawks squeak out a 47 Yard Field Gull for the win 26-24
Make It Matter
Brandon Browner
1 int, 2 pass deflections, 4 tackles. First pick of his NFL career
Hawks stuff Bradshaw, show Cruz why he went to UMass and no one ever heard of him three weeks ago.
Seahawks 27, Giants 9

Earl Thomas
5 tackles, 1 Int
But a Giants win – 27-17
im a giants fan
and my seahawk would be leon washington. we have always had trouble with these guys that sneak out of the backfield and tack advatange of osi and the rest of our over aggressive defensive ends. i watched brian westbrook dominate us like that for years and now lesean mccoy is doing it. I think little leon sees some big gains on delay and draw runs as well…
as for the game, giants win 27-14

On the road
against the giants? 38 – 3, The New York Football Giants. Hawk of the week will be John Ryan.
David Hawthorne
Heater Scoops up a fumble, bats a pass into the air that he can’t quite pull in, and gets one sack along with 6 solo tackles.
Hawks still lose 27-17
Steven Hauschka/ Giants win 35-19
Two FG’s of 50+ yards
One FG of 40-49 yards
One FG of 30-39 yards
This will be really ugly. 38 - 10 Giants.
Hawk of the week will be Branch, who gets 1.5 essentially meaningless sacks, since each will be immediately followed by a long conversion by the opposing offense.
Baldwin
Giants Win 38 – 31
This game follows the same route of last game. Giants get up big early with Nicks and then Tarvaris finds his stride late but a couple of mistakes leaves the victory out of reach.
Baldwin will come through with clutch first downs on third down and keep some drives alive. Best game as a pro to date.
120 yards and 2 TD.
Obo
6 catches for 100 yds and a touchdown. Seahawks win 17-14
Some people lead a lifestyle strikingly different than your own,
Tarvaris Jackson
Stays hot, 21-30, 290 yds 2 TD’s and NO INT’s. Make it happen T-Jax.
Seahawks – 24
Giants – 16
