Post Your Hawk: Week 5

50623_raiders_seahawks_football_medium

Seattle Seahawks (1-3) vs. New York Giants (3-1)

Seattle Injuries: Kam Chancellor S (Quad, DNP Wed.); Robert Gallery OG (Groin, Out Wed.); Anthony Hargrove DE (Hamstring, DNP Wed.); Byron Maxwell CB (Ankle, LP Wed.); Zach Miller TE (Knee, DNP Wed.); Malcolm Smith LB (Hamstring, DNP Wed.); Mike Williams WR (Concussion, DNP Wed.)

New York Giants Injuries: Prince Amukamara CB (Foot, DNP Wed.); David Baas C (Neck, DNP Wed.); Rocky Bernard DT (Ribs, LP Wed.); Michael Boley LB (Knee, DNP Wed.); Brandon Jacobs RB (Knee, DNP Wed.); Justin Tuck DE (Groin/neck, DNP Wed.); Osi Umenyiora DE (Knee, LP Wed.); Corey Webster CB (Not injury related, DNP Wed.)

My Hawk this week is Ben Obomanu. I think if BMW sits out, Ben steps into the WR2 role and has some nice catches to bail Jackson out. He finishes with 5 catches for 75 yards and a TD. However, the Hawks wilt on the road against a far superior Giants team 31-13.

Two users picked Tarvaris Jackson last week: Cj Klocow and colemania. Well done. And here's the link to the point prediction spreadsheet: Link. Remember to get your score predictions in, as you can't miss more than 25% (4 weeks) of the season and still qualify for the championship. There are several users already teetering on the edge of that precipice.

Who ya got?

Defensive struggle….mixing it up a little bit with our lone TD being to Zach Miller who pulls in 7 catches for 82 yards and the score

by DSAhawker on Oct 6, 2011 9:52 AM PDT reply actions

Crap I forgot Miller was ailling...

I keep my guess if he plays, but if he’s ruled out I’m going

Baldy with 5 catches 76 yards and the TD

I’ll confirm once I figure out whats going on with Miller

by DSAhawker on Oct 6, 2011 10:00 AM PDT up reply actions

OH and I'm choose the Hawks to win due to Eli & good defense

He’s gonna get flustered and loose his composure and implode a bit like he sometimes does

by DSAhawker on Oct 6, 2011 1:40 PM PDT up reply actions

Miller fully participated

I’m sticking with him since he’s playing… 7 Catches 82 Yards and a TD

by DSAhawker on Oct 6, 2011 3:56 PM PDT up reply actions

Actually...

He only stayed in to block three times in passing situations against the Falcons.

by rideaducati on Oct 6, 2011 7:25 PM PDT up reply actions

They will put an emphasis on using him in the offense this week

Obviously he’s done jack up until now, but he’s still an awesome TE… and I’m thinking & hoping they’ll give our offense a jumpstart and surprise the Giants by utilizing him a lot more than we have thus far.

Like his lost TD last week…tough break, but shows he can work the field and get open and do damage…. think they’ll emphasize that and bring a new look to the offense this week.

by DSAhawker on Oct 6, 2011 11:28 PM PDT up reply actions

Doug Baldwin

5 catches for 50 yard and a TD. Here’s hoping that Tarvarious doesn’t try to get him killed like he did last week.

Until I see otherwise, Seattle will probably get blown out in all of their road games.

I respect your opinion even though it's wrong.

I'm gonna go with Doug Baldwin too...

4 catches, 60 yards. Unfortunately TJ gets sacked 256 times, causing the sack totals to flip over and record only 1 sack on him for the game. Giants 31, Seattle 7.

shows us why we love him so much. Holds his own the whole night, allowing no sacks, penalties, and allowing Lynch to pile up some yards running left, including several successful short yardage scenarios.

Despite that, Hawks defense gets torched by Hakeem Nicks and Hawks lose 24-14.

Leon W because

Marshawn goes 17 carries for 12 yards, Forsett barely touches the ball, and there won’t be enough time for Jackson to set his feet for a pass of more than 10 yards.

But Leon goes all Matt Forte on the Giants and catches 7 passes for 140 yards and a TD and has one kick/punt return for a TD.

Giants 37, Hawks 27 – a success for the hawks by putting up 20 offensive points on the road against a strong pass rush

This game follows the same route of last game. Giants get up big early with Nicks and then Tarvaris finds his stride late but a couple of mistakes leaves the victory out of reach.

Baldwin will come through with clutch first downs on third down and keep some drives alive. Best game as a pro to date.
