I was in the waiting room at the doctor's office today, thumbing through an issue of Popular Science, when I came accross this picture of Michael Robinson delivering a face melting hit against the Saints. The article is about concussions, and does not talk about the Seahawks at all, but I loved the pic and wanted to share it.

You sure that's not Ken Hamlin?
Hard to tell, but Hamlin wore 26 and once hit Donte Stallworth so hard his helmet popped off.
Good call!
I did a little bit of digging, and found a more complete picture which identifies both players as Ken Hamlin and Donte Stallworth.

The Hammer
This is in Hamlin’s first game as a rookie. Donte Stallworth is the lucky recipient. Of course this is before Hamlin got whacked in the head with a stop sign.
There is no way my wife can witness this photo.
That picture is horrific. My mind is blown.
It was hard enough to imagine allowing my son to play football as he grows, and an image like this helps cement those feelings.
Man I feel old all of a sudden.

I still have the universal aspiration of my sons playing football.
Should it go anywhere, I’ll inform them of the Bermuda Triangle of football collisions. I wouldn’t hope they turn out to have a long career at RB, LB or Safety. The force to mass ratio there is very high. Now playing on either side of the line is a very violent thing. But the hits aren’t as dangerous there. QB and passing game, the wideouts and corners, are safer territory.
Head of catering.
