Post Your Hawk: Week 14

94138_bengals_seahawks_football_medium

Well, shoot. I thought I was going to have more time this week to get caught up on the Post Your Hawk series, but I don't. Just like John Matrix, I lied.

Star-divide

That being said, I'm pretty excited for this week. Hell, I'm excited any time we play the Rams because I hate their guts. Even if the game is boring (hello, 24-7 victory a few weeks ago...) I still get a big thrill out of stomping the Rams. And, boy do I think we're going to stomp the Rams this week. My Hawk is Ben Obomanu. He seems to really be stepping up in the absence of Sidney Rice. I think he grabs six passes for 90 yards and a touchie. He also goes berzonkers (another one of my made-up words: berzerk + bonkers) on a punt returner with a huge tackle. Hawks win 24-6.

I really do hope to be caught up on the spreadsheet next week. Thanks for your continued patience.

Seattle doesn't play down to their opponent this week

Like it seems we have the tendency to do. We play up to higher opponents, Ravens, Giants, Eagles….the come the lowly Browns or Washington and we piss it away.

Not this week.

Lynch has a big day, not being held to 3ypc and sub 100 like our last meeting and TJack is able to play it mostly safe. We ride our Beast to a 27-9 win.

Lynch is the go-to guy and puts up 2TDs on 122 yards rushing over the course of 28 carries.

Lynch was the #1 rated CB in the country in HS

true story…

I think he had like 20 int in a season or something ridiculous like that

by DSAhawker on Dec 9, 2011 10:04 AM PST up reply actions

I can't find anything to back up wiki on that.

Rivals has him listed as a running back, second in the country behind AP. It looks like he played some DB his senior year, but no other site mentions him having 20 picks. His cousin Virdell Larkins was a really highly recruited DB, I wonder if that’s where the myth started.

by Nate Dogg on Dec 9, 2011 10:29 AM PST up reply actions

That was a momentary lapse in judgement

I always take Wiki with a metric ton of salt and don’t use that as my fact foundation…. but for whatever reason I had that in my memory bank and referenced a weak wiki statement

I am ashamed of myself

You should just go edit the wiki page to make it true.

Thanks!

Even though it was 24-7, it was still a somewhat boring game.

Lynch is a given...

Anything less than 100, 2 TDs will be a letdown. Or perhaps the absence of Okung.

My Hawk is TJack… spreads the ball evenly all night to free up Lynch for the stats above. 200 rocket yds, 1 TD, no miscues. Baldwin with the assist, two big 3rd down conversions.

Hawks 27-6.

I'm just going with the whole secondary.

Seahawks take an early lead that forces the rams to pass, so 3 picks spread around.

Seattle Seahawks win 27-13

UGLY grinder, but Seattle wins the field Position battle and controlls the line even without Okung. Bid Red Bryant clogs the line on the other side of the ball and Seattle forces the Rams to try and throw. If not for more physical defensive holding and pass interference penalties the rams can’t move the ball at all

Bryant
3 pass deflections
4 tackles and another blocked kick for good measure. Steven Jackson doesn’t even rush for 60 yards.
