I had to write this before I went to sleep

Obviously at this point, anything can happen. But after seeing the 'Hawks go OL with their first pick (which I'm happy with, btw--didn't completely expect it, but can definitely get behind it), I don't think I want to see them take Kaepernick at 57, like I did this morning. If these Carson Palmer rumours are true, and they can get him for the rumoured price of a 2011 5th and a 2012 3rd, then I think this is how I'd like to see the rest of the draft go, with the understanding that, again, anything can happen...

First of all, assume one of the Round 5 picks goes to Cincinnati, either #156 or 157 overall.

Then I want to see them go DL with #57, and this is why: the DL needs help, and some freakishly good talent could be available. I'd rather see them go into the season with Palmer/Charlie/late-round QB than Charlie/Kaepernick/someone else, or Palmer/Charlie/Kaepernick and the DL as it is now. If Marvin Austin or Da'Quan Bowers are available, they would be no-brainers. Otherwise, some names I'd like to see would be Drake Nevis, Kenrick Ellis, Stephen Paea, and Christian Ballard (I obviously have a bent toward DTs).

Next I want to see Ras-I Dowling/Brandon Burton/Curtis Marsh/Shareece Wright taken at #99 (second pick in the 4th round). I think there is some solid talent for the secondary in this draft, and given the 'Hawks' potential holes there, I'd like to take advantage of that. Drafting one of these guys and doing something like signing Nnamdi, along with Tru, TIII, ET, and Browner would give Seattle a fucking hell of a secondary.

Finally, use the other pick in Round 5 on either Tyrod Taylor or Ricky Stanzi, if either is available. I understand that they both have fairly low floors, but a fifth round pick wouldn't be much of a shame to waste, and I think the 'Hawks will be better served with some young DL and CB depth. I've heard (relatively) good things about both of these guys from Mike Mayock, Rob Rang, Rob Staton, and Greg Cosell, all draft gurus whose opinions I respect highly.

And honestly, who cares who they spend their other picks on. WR would be cool, maybe another OL or DL depth player, maybe a nifty little RB. Anyways, I know I'm just shooting stuff out my ass at this point, but I had this on my mind and wanted to get it out there.
