NFL Lockout Update: Chester Pitts Has a Pretty Good Barak Obama Impression
Check out Chester Pitts and Raheem Brock crank-callin Roger Goodell. Even though he didn't actually use the word "turd" it's still pretty funny. This is what the NFL offseason has degenerated into. Video after the jump.

In serious news,
it looks like another day is going to go by without a ruling on the stay. I find it funny (and incredibly infuriating) how easily the judges found it to rule on and grant the temporary stay yet they refuse to sit down, take some time and rule on the permanent stay.
They may well leave the stay in place until the ruling
It is a bit aggravating, but what do you do?
by Thomas Beekers on May 10, 2011 1:35 PM PDT up reply actions
The appeal hearing is early June
That will hopefully be followed by an expedited decision but there’s no guarantees.
I’m just saying, there’s no reason for them not to hold up the temporary stay until then if they’re so inclined.
by Thomas Beekers on May 10, 2011 2:27 PM PDT up reply actions
My point is that the temp. stay was only so the players could reply
to the owners’ request for the permanent stay. Now the judges are instead going to just refuse to rule on the permanent stay? Why not just grant the stay then? It’s frustrating.
Plus the problem is that if the panel of judges who are going to rule on the appeal
doesn’t overturn Nelson’s ruling, the NFL will just appeal to have the whole 8th Circuit hear the case. It could take months.
Possibly the reason why they didn't rule on it?
They were at a retirement proceeding. Seriously. WHY DON’T THEY SCHEDULE THESE THINGS FOR THE WEEKEND WHEN THE COURTS ARE CLOSED?!?!
Pitts is funny. He's also a smart dude.
I hope he doesn’t catch too much flack for this. I mean he played oboe… that’s a hard instrument to play.
Too bad "funny" and "plays oboe" doesn't translate to NFL performance...
Two-thirds of the earth is covered by water. The other third is covered by Earl Thomas.
Yeah, I agree.
And I wish they wouldn’t keep tagging the Seahawks name on this. Aren’t both of these guys FA’s?
Offseason 2011: Kelly Jennings, Craig Terrill, and Matt Hasselbeck...good riddance.

Yes, I'm actually kind of embarrassed that it's associated with the Seahawks.

Tough crowd. Though I agree it wasn't super hilarious.
I pretty much just thought Chester Pitts did a pretty good Obama. Probably better than that guy on SNL (Fred Armison), which isn’t saying much.
I actually thought his DeMaurice Smith was his best impression.
(If I’m complimenting this skit that is …)

The Rock did a pretty decent Obama on SNL.

Seriously.
Armison is TERRIBLE. Worse presidential impersonator in the history of SNL.

I enjoyed Darrell Hammond's Clinton quite a bit
but then again, Hammond was an impersonation specialist.

He did fine... I agree.
Also, Chevy Chase’s Ford Christmas scene was AMAZING.
And Dana Carvey’s Bush Snr. was great too. Don’t know how you have either forgotten or don’t appreciate “Got my Nikes on, Just Do It.”

Carvey was great as both Bush and Perot.
by Kip Earlywine on May 10, 2011 10:16 PM PDT up reply actions
Oh, his Perot... I had forgotten!
And Bob Dole, for that matter.
And Norm was great as Dole too…

If you like Norm MacDonald, his new show's worth checking out.

I watched it for the 1st time last night.
It was no 1998 ESPY’s, but it was solid stuff.

Love Hammond's Clinton
Can’t stand Ferrell’s Bush…[insert textual W. snicker here]
Speaking of not liking Busch: it looks like the whole Advanced Stats thing is just a cover.
How on earth did you find that?
Teams (for foreign blogs): Seahawks, Mariners, Huskies and Broncos. Yes, I recognize the contradiction; I was born in Denver.

Haha...
I knew I was committing sacrilege when criticizing Ferrell (always thought it was one-dimensional, and the wrong dimension at that) so I figured I’d try to find an impersonator that took full advantage of the opportunity Bush presents.
To find the long lost Field Gulls front man was an absolute stroke of luckitude.

Chevy Chase fell down a lot!!!
I haven’t seen Arnisen because the only good aspects of today’s SNL are the digital shorts and those are invariably available all over the place the next day anyway. Anyway, I doubt he’s as bad as Dana Carvey doing Bush Sr.
by Johnny Slick on May 10, 2011 7:19 PM PDT up reply actions
I loved Bush Snr. by Carvey.
And the best thing about SNL these days is far and away Kristen Wiig. She’s the best female castmate ever, and comedy gold.

I like her in just about every movie she's been in but I hear her big character on SNL is beyond annoying.
by Johnny Slick on May 10, 2011 8:25 PM PDT up reply actions
Wait... "You hear" her big character is annoying?
Her “big character” is genius. But of course, it fits my comedy style. But she has several different characters both repeating and singular who are pretty funny…. sometimes painful, but dreadfully funny.

I disagree
Bill Hader doing Stephon is the funniest thing SNL has going for it.

Andy Samberg
Is the best thing on SNL. Kristen Wiig and the rest of the cast are mostly good but the writing is terrible. Some of the characters are godawful and they seem to have forgotten how to write a conclusion to almost every sketch they do.

They need to get away from making everything a "Talk Show Skit"
by Scruffy Lefty on May 11, 2011 9:32 AM PDT up reply actions 1 recs
Ending skits has always been an issue on SNL.
Though, to be fair, it’s an issue with all skit shows.
I don't feel like this video is supposed to be terribly funny
If anything, it’s just out there to dig at the commissioner in a “light-hearted” way.

SNL Presidential Related
Tina Fey of course. Her Palin was awesome.
But the best impression EVER on SNL was John Goodman as Linda Tripp (the woman that ratted out Clinton and Monica Lewinski). His portrayal of Tripp was inspired!
agreed on both counts...
Also, makes you wonder. I never thought Tina Fey looked anything like Sarah Palin going in.
Coming out of those skits, all I can think is, “I wonder what Sarah Palin actually looks like under all her expensive makeup.”

Why are they laying on a bed together?
Am I the only one that found that a tad bit awkward?
I did find it humorous, though!
