I do a lot of perusing of various NFL related outlets, as I'm sure you do as well. I wanted to start including a sort-of "what I'm reading" type of thing maybe once a week or so. If you don't like link-posts please just carry on living your life. BUUUUUUUT, if you do like them, oh boy have I got some links for you.
Next Years' Prospects:
Rob Staton of SDB gives a great look at his top 50 prospects to watch in 2011, including my favorite, "#28 Riley Reiff (OT, Iowa) - Junior tackle who was arrested as an incoming freshman after leading police on a 20-minute foot chase. At least we know he's agile."
2012 NFL Mock Draft: QB trio of Luck, Jones and Barkley in top five: Andrew Perloff of SI.com gives his 2012 mock and has the Seahawks selecting Matt Barkley of USC.
Andrew Luck, Justin Blackmon among top 2012 NFL Draft prospects: Tony Pauline takes a look at the top 40 prospects for 2012 so you can start getting acquainted with who to watch this fall. I actually really like these things, and I'll probably do one of my own later on, but it's nice to have an idea of the guys to keep on your radar because I'm not as well-versed in the college game.
2012 NFL Draft top 100 rankings - Mocking The Draft: Dan Kadar gives his top 100 collegiate player prospects for 2012.
Plenty of offensive talent should be available in '12 draft: Chad Rueter breaks down some of the top prospects for the 2012 Draft.
Breaking down the 2012 QB class: Wes Bunting talks about the 2012 QB class, something Seahawks fans will be watching closely in the next year. He's high on Texas A&M's Ryan Tennehill, something I'll look into in more depth down the road.
Undrafted Free Agents:
Top 25 undrafted players from the 2011 NFL Draft - Mocking The Draft: Dan Kadar ranks his top 25 UDFA rookies.
2011 All-Undrafted Team: The best of the NFL's draft-day snubs: Matt Hinton gives us his All-UDFA Team.
Lockout could be blessing for undrafted free agents: Jack Bechta of the NFP examines why the lockout is actually better for undrafted free agent rookies because now teams will be zeroing in more on who they like and it gives the UDFAs a better chance to land somewhere they'll fit.
One agent's UFA formula: Jack Bechta again on placing UDFAs on teams where they'll fit. I think the Hawks have plans for several unsigned rookie free agents so this article is pertinent to that.
ProFootballWeekly.com - Like it or not, Tolzien is playing waiting game: Alex Mayster of PFW has a good piece on Wisconsin QB Scott Tolzien - another player that I've neglected to talk about much but could actually be on the Hawks' radar going into rookie free agency.
Titans coach, GM answer questions from season-ticket holders: Tennessee Titans GM Mike Reinfelt talks about their offseason plans, including their QB options and Randy Moss, two things that might interest Seattle Seahawks fans: "It might be a guy we might like for two or three years. Because of the free agency, I can't mention those guys by name, but Kerry Collins would be in that mix and there's probably either three or four other guys that are worth talking about, either through trade or free agency." COUGHmatthasselbeckCOUGH. Reinfeldt on free agent wide receiver Randy Moss: "I honestly don't think we'll try to re-sign him. We've got some young guys we like and I think at this point in his career he will probably go elsewhere."
Sea QB in 2011? ... Chuck Whitehurst, with a backup not named Matt Hasselbeck. For what it's worth, Peter King doesn't think Matt Hasselbeck will be back in Seattle.
Brooks: Hasselbeck a fit with Titans: Bucky Brooks also thinks that Matt Hasselbeck would be a great fit in Tennessee
Graph of the day - NFL draft edition: Chris Brown of Smart Football examines a graph that depicts what positions teams value the most in the first round of the draft for the last 41 years. Pretty cool.
Is Leinart a fit for Seahawks?- Michael Lombardi doesn't think so and he tells you why.
Brandon Adams of 17Power shares his thoughts on Matt Hasselbeck and his potential return to Seattle.
Derek Stephens of Blue Bird Herd has some high grades for the Hawks' 6th and 7th round picks in an interesting read/scouting report.
