Ok, first, as an introduction; I'm going to be doing this alternating between the "best" and the "worst" throwback uniforms in the NFL. Keep in mind, before your blood starts boiling, that this is purely opinion based and ultimately beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Also, it's just for fun. Just because you have bad taste and do not agree with my choices, it's a free country and you're welcome to feel that way. I have a certain idea of what uniforms should be and 'busy' is not one of the attributes I like. Also, 'pastels' score low, 'new age' or 'stupid' logos bug me, and the 'older-school' the throwback, the better. I also like solid color jerseys and simplicity goes a long way.
Now, without turning into "a bridesmaid in a fabric store" by getting too into this, I'll just proceed with a short explanation as to why I think these throwbacks either a) suck ass, or b) kick ass.
First, coming in as the 5th worst throwback in the NFL history, I present to you the Washington Redskins tribute to the 1970-71 season. They wore these uniforms in in 2007 in honor of their 75th anniversary and though the are probably better than their current ensembles, I just cannot look at a Redskins player (either now, or in these throwback uniforms) without imagining Ronald McDonald running around on the gridiron.
