Seahawks Now Looking for Free Agent Kicker: Who is Out There?
Per Adam Schefter:
K Olindo Mare has left Seattle to sign with another team. Seahawks now searching for replacement free-agent kicker.
Mare apparently has signed with the Carolina Panthers, per Jason La Canfora and Adam Schefter. Schefter said, "We have found Olindo Mare! He reached agreement with Panthers on a 4-yr deal for $12 million with a $4 million signing bonus." Apparently this front office didn't want to pay Mare $16 million over 4 years.
According to Yahoo's free agent tracker, some free agent kickers still out there include Adam Vinatieri and Ryan Longwell. Others still out there are Matt Bryant, Shayne Graham, Nick Folk, and Kris Brown.
Ryan Longwell is the most obvious candidates because of his connection to Darrell Bevell. He's on the old side, but so was Olindo Mare.

Crosby would be great but I think he re-signed already.

Go after Longwell
Keep pursuing Sidney Rice and Ray Edwards and pretty soon we can call it even over the whole Hutch thing.

nice
Looks like we just signed at UDFA instead of Longwell, but YES, I’ll take Sidney Rice and Ray Edwards (add Robert Gallery) and I’m over the Hutch fiasco.

Isn't Akers unrestricted?
He was transition tagged, but then that was invalidated in the new CBA.

George Blanda was 41
and played 4th quarter QB AND FG kicker.
Recently engaged! Best. Off-season. Ever.
Blanda was one of a kind
And no, Favre’s not even worthy of holding on to Blanda’s jockstrap.

what a prick
should have said nothing instead of stating he would offer a discount.
