I've been a Hawks fan ever since the NFL first appeared on British television screens in 1985. This year, after a growing fanaticism that far surpasses anything I feel for sports on this side of the pond, I am planning to come over to catch two games at the CLink in late November/December. It feels like Christmas. I am deliriously excited.
I'm going to do research online, but I'd be really grateful for any advice from a fan's perspective for a first-time visitor. Tickets look relatively easy to get hold off from the official site - is this actually the case? As the stadium is always sold-out, am I likely to have a problem buying them on the 28th? Is there a good after sales market?
Finding a reasonably cheap play to stay would be good, ideally somewhere downtown and with good transport to the stadium (I don't drive - whilst fine in London, I know it can be hellishly inconvenient in the States). I can search hotels easily enough myself - not too keen on hostelling at 41 - but the trip will be expensive so saving a few pennies here and there would be welcome - so if anyone could do with some extra cash and is happy to put up a Brit for a few days, please give me a yell. Also, are there any particular bars popular with fans that I really ought to visit?
Thanks for reading. Hope to be standing with you when the Eagles come to town on December 1st.
Cheers, Gary.
