Are you a Seahawks fan living in New York City? Join us!

if you live in New York City and want to watch Seahawks games with the biggest collection of Seattle fans this side of the Mississippi, join up with our NYCeahawks group (on MeetupFacebook and Twitter) and catch the games with us at Carlow East on the Upper East Side. We have been there since 2009, and I'm pretty sure there was some minor seismic activity along Lexington Ave last year when Marshawn went all Beastmode on the Saints. Thrillist even featured us this week as one of the best spots to watch football in the city -- a no-brainer, seeing as how they hook us up with great drink deals, Hawkikaze shots after touchdowns and free food every week (yes, free food).

When I moved to New York in 2006 after graduating from Boston College, I wanted to find a place where I could watch the Seahawks, either with full game audio (a rarity for non-New York teams) or with a group of Seattle fans. I stumbled upon a group of 5 or 6 diehards, and joined their cause. Each year we grew -- about 25 people to kick off the 2007 season thanks to some Facebook recruiting and growing to around 40 for the playoffs that year. In 2008 we kicked off with 50 fans at a new bar (which ended up screwing us over, but that's a story for another time). In 2009, we found Carlow East, and the rest is history. The first week of that season, we had close to 80 people at the bar, and well over 100 to kick off the 2010 season. The playoff games last season drew an estimated 120+. It isn't just home away from home -- it is paradise.

Carlow East has really become a great spot for Seattleites. They also host the Emerald City Supporters and show all Sounders games, and you can walk in any time and ask them to throw on the Mariners game. I've met some incredible people, from our original founder (we miss you Dawn!) to many Field Gulls commenters and contributors (including TheByron and his glorious beard), and I've made some of my best friends in the world. The bartenders are great, the owners are great and the regulars are great. And win or lose, the time you will have at Carlow East is great.
