Played a lot better than most experts predicted. We also fared pretty well there at the end of the season even though we were missing a ton of key players.

His playcalling is pedestrian.
Too many questionable calls. Maybe they can open up the playbook a little more with a longer off-season though…
I'm kind of a big deal...
I have to agree
How many time on 1st and goal on 5 yard line. There is some goofy play call Forsett off tackle when we should be doing Lynch 3 times. There has been way too many “getting too cute” plays in the redzone. or other thing that drove me crazy. Lynch is getting 8 and 9 yards near midfield and they pull him for 8 plays. Lynch should be there in on 3rd and 5+ and you always see Forsett.
We lost to them without a lot of people too
"You are the molders of their dreams." - Clark Mollenhoff
We lost without starting WR's
Most of the line, TE, starting CB’s
It takes a big man to admit when he's wrong. I am NOT a big man.
I think we have our starting CBs for next year.
Yeah, gotta give props to that backup line. They did a helluva job filling in. We definitely need more pass rush though.
I'm kind of a big deal...
Tru is done in Seattle, WT3 will probably be 2nd string
The O-line is going to be stout next season, the D-line needs some rushers. A good looking squad next season
It takes a big man to admit when he's wrong. I am NOT a big man.
You don't think they'll keep Tru?
Can’t they make him the nickle or something?
I'm kind of a big deal...
Not worth it for the money it would cost
WT3 would be a better nickleback, he still has speed that Tru has lost a few years ago.
It takes a big man to admit when he's wrong. I am NOT a big man.
Yeah we'll see what happens
The good news is that the nickle is a place that’s pretty easily replaced.
It takes a big man to admit when he's wrong. I am NOT a big man.
If he takes a short cheap contract, sure.
No need to throw any decent amount of money at him though.
by the other side on Jan 1, 2012 4:54 PM PST up reply actions
It might depend on his contract situation.
I believe he’s owed quite a bit.
The secondary has a lot of young, developing talent, and Bigby and Lewis are good at the nickel/dime spots (yes, I know Bigby is a safety, but this D uses three safeties in its pass coverage frequenty to match up with multiple-TE offenses).
He took the paycut to I think 3 mill and incentive based
But that’s still a lot for a player that is slow and won’t even see the field much. He will be released and WT3 will pick up whatever role is necessary. It will leave a spot open for an edge rusher or LB depth
It takes a big man to admit when he's wrong. I am NOT a big man.
Oh well
Better draft position, good game, good season, good fun

Obo makes some catches, we win this game, probably easily, despite Tjack. Improves our draft position, which is a bonus, I guess.

we completely lost this game ourselves. No one to blame but ourselves. Good officiating for the most part and Fitzgerald was super human, but other than that we totally shit ourselves. Bevell has dog shit for a brain. Obo has stone hands. Yes, we had injuries, but even still we should have scored at least 10 extra points against a crappy team. 3rd worse loss of the season for me, hell even 2nd I guess. Those are easy to get.
You know, it's crazy, but you're right.
This team is knocking on the door. Key slots, yes. But the number is dwindling.
I was being a little sarcastic.
Our linebackers need a lot of work, and I am not even close to sold on the future of this offensive line. That we need a quarterback and a defensive end is even more of a worry, but the critical issue for me is that I’m not sure Pete and co. realize we need those two things.

Hell fucking yes. When we lost last season, we got annihilated. Every game this year has been close, and we’re in the top 5 in fewest points allowed. That’s progress.
by twocolorcrayon on Jan 1, 2012 5:02 PM PST up reply actions
2012: more points scored than allowed.
2011: -97 net points (ouch)
I was just talking wins.
But it’s good to see you’re all out in force.
I don't know that Benne was talking strictly about wins
and even if he was, why would you restrict the conversation to that?
Man, I really don't care.
He brought up the numbers, nothing else. It wasn’t a big deal.
That said, it is interesting that our record is the same as last year’s, but so many of us are convinced that this team is better. I’m a little surprised we haven’t heard more criticism (founded or not) from the mainstream against this current regime.
If you're going to use dumb metrics to try to make a point
people are going to call you out on it. There’s a billion ways this team has improved and I’m sure you’re well aware of half of them. No need to try to poor stats to make an emotional point.

Pretty remarkable really.

You're probably not hearing criticism about this year for the same reason some of us criticized the Q/PM last year.
In 2010 the team improved their win lose record but actually declined in terms of DVOA. This year they’re vastly improved in DVOA, their point margin is improved and they replaced a lot of players from last year with young guys that showed some really encouraging stuff.
I kind of have to agree with Greetings on this. Be critical of the Q/PM all you want, I certainly have been, but if the last criticism you’re hanging to is that their W/L record didn’t improve I think you might need to reevaluate your position.
Yeah, see my post above.

Eh I dunno.
You could swap the Apollo 13 soundtrack and the Avatar soundtrack and not miss a beat.
They all have their repeated tics.
Horner’s “alien” music from Aliens is exactly the same as his “klingons are coming” music from Star Trek.
Williams is the worst for this. That said, he has done a bazillion soundtracks.
Williams' tic is using the horns for brief punctuation.
I’d say he’s capable of writing a far wider range of music styles than any of the other composers listed here.
Oh, he's got more motifs than that.
I was watching something of his the other day and said to myself “why do I get the feeling I just arrived at Hogwarts”?
But he’s clearly the gold standard.
Elfman? Elfman over Williams?
Hell no. Everything Danny Elfman writes is the same.
I think you're confusing him with Mitch Albom
"The time has come," the Walrus said, "to talk of many things."
He does have a couple that surprised me.
Sometimes I’ll see a movie and go “wait, who did the music” and it’ll be Elfman, and I’ll be surprised. Wanted and Terminator Salvation were a couple of those.
Can't believe the Elfman hate on this sub-thread.

Romo got up 2 yards past the spot.
70% of space is covered by dark matter, the rest by ET.
Carroll was not his normal happy self in his post game presser.
Something about “the fifth or sixth time this season” . Better late than never I guess.
Can't imagine the adrenaline low that he was going through
did you see him running around and jumping on the sideline earlier? damn

NWCN is hilarious
Park Ranger in Pierce County got shot and killed and the anchor says “the suspect is armed and dangerous”.
ARMED?! No shit, Sherlock.

Well, you know, he could be some sort of mage who uses his mind to manipulate matter and form imaginary daggers in reality
so he wouldn’t be ‘armed’ in the conventional sense. Anchor’s got to be specific, right?

Romo is responsible for 60% of his sacks
Has Roethlisberger and Favre’s worst habits.

As much as I hate "Manning Face", he can make a hell of a lot better throws than
any of our current QB’s. He always good for 3-4 really bad games per season, but the other 12-13, he’s good to great. Heck, Romo, who sucks balls in the clutch, is still a much better QB than we have on our roster currently. Either of those guys on the Seahawks, and we are a much better team. Sad, considering I don’t like either of them.
I'd take Manning in a second.
I don’t understand the hatred for him.
Just that he was pretty overrated for years...
but has grown into a much better QB the last couple. Also, that whiny face and slouchy, depressed demeanor when things are going wrong. Doesn’t have good leadership when things go wrong, but when he’s on a roll, which is reasonably often, he’s very good.
Still that face… damn, only the elway face and the Cutler face compare for whiny, depressed bitchy-ness!

He's been pretty goddamn good in the playoffs.
Makes me think he’s a better leader than we think.
yeeeeup

So to conclude, our 2012 NFL Schedule is now confirmed to be:
HOME: NFC West Opp, DAL, MIN, GB, NYJ, NE
AWAY: NFC West Opp, CAR, DET, CHI, BUF, MIA
11 of the 16 games are against teams who did not qualify for the playoffs. Otherwise the other 5 games against 2011 playoff teams are SF twice, GB, NE, and DET.

As much as I'd like to see Aaron Rodgers...
…I’m not sure I want to see Aaron Rodgers against this pass rush.
Ugh, ditto for Tom Brady.
Here's to hoping for a great defensive front-line draft class!
