by Benny Boy on Jan 1, 2012 4:50 PM PST up reply actions

I have to agree

How many time on 1st and goal on 5 yard line. There is some goofy play call Forsett off tackle when we should be doing Lynch 3 times. There has been way too many “getting too cute” plays in the redzone. or other thing that drove me crazy. Lynch is getting 8 and 9 yards near midfield and they pull him for 8 plays. Lynch should be there in on 3rd and 5+ and you always see Forsett.

by SGT Lenny on Jan 1, 2012 5:06 PM PST up reply actions

If he takes a short cheap contract, sure.

No need to throw any decent amount of money at him though.

by the other side on Jan 1, 2012 4:54 PM PST up reply actions

It might depend on his contract situation.

I believe he’s owed quite a bit.

The secondary has a lot of young, developing talent, and Bigby and Lewis are good at the nickel/dime spots (yes, I know Bigby is a safety, but this D uses three safeties in its pass coverage frequenty to match up with multiple-TE offenses).

by djafrot on Jan 1, 2012 4:55 PM PST up reply actions

He took the paycut to I think 3 mill and incentive based

But that’s still a lot for a player that is slow and won’t even see the field much. He will be released and WT3 will pick up whatever role is necessary. It will leave a spot open for an edge rusher or LB depth

It takes a big man to admit when he's wrong. I am NOT a big man.

we have a core. Our needs are mostly obvious.

We also need depth at virtually every position, especially LB.

Our linebackers need a lot of work, and I am not even close to sold on the future of this offensive line. That we need a quarterback and a defensive end is even more of a worry, but the critical issue for me is that I’m not sure Pete and co. realize we need those two things.

You're probably not hearing criticism about this year for the same reason some of us criticized the Q/PM last year.

In 2010 the team improved their win lose record but actually declined in terms of DVOA. This year they’re vastly improved in DVOA, their point margin is improved and they replaced a lot of players from last year with young guys that showed some really encouraging stuff.

I kind of have to agree with Greetings on this. Be critical of the Q/PM all you want, I certainly have been, but if the last criticism you’re hanging to is that their W/L record didn’t improve I think you might need to reevaluate your position.

They all have their repeated tics.

Horner’s “alien” music from Aliens is exactly the same as his “klingons are coming” music from Star Trek.

Williams is the worst for this. That said, he has done a bazillion soundtracks.

by djafrot on Jan 1, 2012 5:53 PM PST up reply actions

Williams' tic is using the horns for brief punctuation.

I’d say he’s capable of writing a far wider range of music styles than any of the other composers listed here.

by BrianL on Jan 1, 2012 5:56 PM PST up reply actions

Oh, he's got more motifs than that.

by BrianL on Jan 1, 2012 5:50 PM PST up reply actions

Sometimes I’ll see a movie and go “wait, who did the music” and it’ll be Elfman, and I’ll be surprised. Wanted and Terminator Salvation were a couple of those.

As much as I hate "Manning Face", he can make a hell of a lot better throws than

any of our current QB’s. He always good for 3-4 really bad games per season, but the other 12-13, he’s good to great. Heck, Romo, who sucks balls in the clutch, is still a much better QB than we have on our roster currently. Either of those guys on the Seahawks, and we are a much better team. Sad, considering I don’t like either of them.
