Seahawks Scouting: It's Senior Bowl Week
Senior Bowl week kicks off this morning and if you enjoyed East-West Shrine Bowl week, boy oh boy you're in for a treat. Why? Because there are a lot of very good football players that are going to play football in this particular football game. While last week's Shine Game was more for scouting mid to late round sleeper type guys, this week should involve a plethora of first and second round type players.
Some interesting players on offense to watch include QBs Brandon Weeden, Kirk Cousins, Nick Foles and Kellen Moore, RBs Chris Polk, Doug Martin, and Terrance Gannaway, and WRs Dwight Jones, Jeff Fuller and Juron Criner, among many others.
On defense, DEs Melvin Ingram, Quinton Coples, and Andre Branch, DT Mike Martin, LBs Courtney Upshaw and Emmanuel Acho, and DBs Janoris Jenkin, Mark Barron and Asa Jackson, just to name a few.
The official weigh-in is happening right now so follow Rotoworld's Josh Norris, National Football Post's Wes Bunting, and Optimum Scouting's Erik Galko for those results and coverage this week. For those of you who were wondering, Kellen Moore is officially 5'11, 191. (UPDATE: here are all the official weigh-in results).
After the jump, I've included the full rosters for each team.
(all weights/heights are posted before the official weigh-in)

Walter Football lists the fractional heights here:
http://walterfootball.com/seniorbowl2012.php
For example, leprechaun Kellen Moore is listed at “51106” which is means “5 feet, 11 inches and 6/8th of an inch”. He’s closer to 6’ than 5’11", but he’s still short.
I’m not sure the extra precision will add much to our conversation, but it’s something.

Yeah, I saw that
He’d typically be one of the 2-3 shortest guys on the field. I think that’s going to sink him.

Potential Michael Robinson switch to fullback?

He doesn't have the girth.
Robinson was bulky even when he was playing QB at Penn St. Also, I haven’t watched a ton of Wilson but he’s more mobile than a runner. Robinson ran like a full back at PSU.
He seems too 'in between' to be a RB or a FB
he’s too slow to be a true RB, and isn’t the beast of a blocker that a FB should be (granted he had some sick hits this year).

Why get Matt Flynn?

I know it's crazy talk but Wilson peaks my interest a bit.
He has an arm. That’s the key for a guy of his limited stature… plus all the other intangibles obviously. I’m not ready to write a letter of recommendation for him but I’m not ready to write him off completely either.

I look at it this way:
“Ideal” draft picks like Leinart and Clausen the right size, arm strength, accuracy and pro-style background struggle all the time in the NFL. Every additional challenge (height, arm, different system, etc) makes the job that much harder.

Clausen was 6'1" 3/4
That is borderline unacceptable size. Clausen was hyped because he was the number one QB coming out of high school and had good college career where he improved every year.
I'm too important to this team. Big Stein can't be flopping and twitching.
That's okay
with platform shoes, he’ll be as tall as we need him to be

I heard that the NFL doesn't have a rule against heels.
After all, Ben Roethlisberger has been a heel his entire career.

Have at it Mr. Schnider!
These next couple months are my favorite part of the football year. It’s like shopping for materials to build the next project/toy.
Cant wait
I want to see how Emmanual Acho stacks up against the talent here… I like his game and think he could play WILL for us quite well.
Looking at this list
I am definitely more intrigued by the players on the defensive side of the ball in this game.

My heart still yearns for Kellen Moore,
but my head is starting to rationalize itself.

Don't worry, once you come around you'll realize he's too much of an oompa loompa to ever truly be a starting NFL QB
Drew Brees doesn’t count, he never had orange as a school color
