It's a good decision by him

He may never even be an ok NFL QB, why not play another year at a high level in college?

Worst that can happen is he gets another great year of college play and competes for a national title for a top college team. Best that can happen is he pulls a RG3 type of leap in terms of learning and becomes a good NFL prospect after all.

Why stop there?

He gets hit by a bus, falls into a ditch and contracts giardia. Then his girlfriend leaves him for the guy who beat him out for a varsity wrestling spot in high school.
