Enemy Reaction: New England Patriots

This is possibly my favorite ever Enemy Reaction feature out of any team Seattle has beaten. I normally provide kudos to the opposing team after the Seahawks beat them, and I will give kudos to Pats Pulpit for their interaction with Field Gulls this week, but Patriots fans in general are an insufferable bunch. Actually, that entire organization is a pain in the ass. Their announcers are awful, Bill Simmons is one of the most overhyped sportswriters on the planet, Tom Brady is a whiner, Bill Belichick is a sore loser, and Vince Wilfork alone should count as 12 men on the field.

Patriots tears are beautiful, sweet, and I will document all of it. I'm not interested in too much objective analysis by Pats fans because there's almost no fun in that now. Seattle beat these guys and became the latest team to blow a hole in that whole "Belichick is still amazing" theory as they once again lost a 4th quarter lead.

Game thread comments courtesy of Pats Pulpit. Zoom-in to see the images in full, and apologies for the inconsistencies with the yellow and white, so that gives away I only looked at the 4th quarter thread before anything else.

Post-Game: Where have all the DBs gone?

Certainly not to New England. The deep passes did the Patriots defense in. In the Denver game they were deep passes completed in that game. Deep passes connected in the Ravens game. Deep passes cost the Patriots in the Seahawks game.

If the Patriots pass rush does not get to the QB most likely its going to be a completed pass. The secondary for New England is really bad. I think the Patriots defense over all has improved from last season. The defensive backs not so much.

Mccourty made some good tackles in the game versus the Seahawks. I think he should make the move to safety permanent. He has played tight coverage all season but has made some awful pass interference calls this season. On more then one occasion he neglected to look back for the ball and ran all over the wide out and drew the yellow flag from the referees. None more devastating then the one he drew against the Ravens. Mccourty on deep routes doesn’t look for the ball and is constantly out jumped for the ball.

A lot of people seem to like Kyle Arrington. I’am not a fan of his. I have noticed a lot of times he is constantly off the receiver and beaten a lot over the course of this season. Today was no different. He’s not the best coverage player. Not even a good one.

Losing a game like this one hurts. The Patriots had to have thought they were in control of the game to only blow a lead and loss on a touchdown pass to a rookie QB. This was a win that slipped away by the Patriots offense not putting away the Seahawks. The Patriots almost did the same thing with Denver. They were close to blowing a lead against Denver. The Patriots need to learn to finish teams off. It finally came back to bite them today. Maybe losing this game has taught them that lesson. - Morgan Smith from Patriots Gab

It's one thing to get a last-second win after being down 13 when all hope looked lost following Zach Miller's fumble, it's another thing to do it against those guys. I'm sure ESPN will spend the rest of the week talking about what is wrong with the Patriots as if it was impossible for Seattle to outplay them, but screw them. Seattle is 4-2 through this gauntlet of a schedule and if you aren't satisfied then go watch something else.

My goodness, this may be one of Seattle's best regular season wins (see what I did there?) since the Super Bowl season.
