Seahawks at Niners: Video Retrospective

Programming note - There will be no video retrospective next week, as I will be in Iceland from Sunday to Sunday. I might try to catch up on the Lions game at some point, but no promises.

This was another bad game for the special teams group. Ginn had a couple big returns and Leon was kept bottled up. Leon was great in the Cardinals game, but I keep waiting for him to take one to the house and win one of these close games. As for the coverage teams, they've been very hit and miss this year. Hopefully they'll get some consistency as the year goes on.

One thing that has really stood out to me about Wilson is he is not afraid to put the ball in a place for a receiver to go make a play on it. The Edwards pass in the end zone, the Rice comeback on the left sideline where he had to go up for the ball and the corner lost track of him, the Moore pass on the tight sideline, and Tate's pass along the tight sideline later in the game are all examples of this. It's a nice change of pace from a guy like TJack, and it's something that got me excited for him in the preseason, but it also makes him extremely reliant on his receivers. It makes me very hopeful that Seattle is aggressive in adding a big time play maker at the position, either early in the draft or through free agency.
