Seahawks at Panthers: Video Retrospective

"You don't appreciate Earl Thomas enough" is a fledgling meme I support, but I'm going to guess you don't appreciate Jason Jones enough either. He's been near unblockable in pass rushing situations, and he's had a big part in Bruce Irvin's early success. Both of Irvin's sacks yesterday came off of stunts with Jones, and the half sack that Irvin got in the Dallas game was shared with Jones. Jones also forced an interception yesterday that Thomas inexplicably dropped. The idea that he'll walk after his one year deal is up is terrifying.

Last week I wondered if Carolina's run first personnel packages would give Seattle's pass rush problems by denying opportunities for their subpackages. It did, as we didn't see Seattle get too crazy until the end of the game. It also didn't matter because Cam was terrible, Steve Smith was too busy trying to wrestle Sherman, and the Carolina running backs looked soft and slow. For all the draft capital and money they've poured into building a three headed running attack, it looked about as potent as the Cardinals ground game yesterday.
