Great game Sunday, I imagine the Cards aren't looking forward to coming back next season. A few things that are a bit picky for a 58-0 win but who cares. Brenno. The. Penalties. Must. Stop! I'm actually entertaining the thought that he might have a condition that prevents him from being able to hear high pitch sounds like whistles (it's thin, I know, but still probably a better defense than Sherman's (I didn't feel good about that)).
Also, why is it, that even in a game that we win by as much as we did, you still come away feeling the refs were crap? I understand the calls on Sherm and Kam for Unsportsmanlike but how many Personal Foul calls did we have in that game? 4 or 5? And for some reason, the Zebras wouldn't call a Personal Foul on Arizona unless they made a good, clean hit. On Maxwell's strip and recovery of Patrick "I'm Soooo Scary To Kick Too" Peterson (what a nightmare game he had but I'm doubting they cut him) some Zona guy threw Byron down about 3 yards out of bounds. And it's beyond me how they called off-setting penalties when that big shoving match broke out near mid field. Both flags should've been on the Cards in this instance as well.
Some good things, other than just about everything that happened in the game: Bobby Wagner is a really good football player! I think it will show that the NFL has as much east coast bias as college football does if Wagner isn't the Defensive R.O.T.Y. He's like a defensive Russell Wilson in the sense that you can actually see him getting better from game to game. He isn't making the same mistakes he made early in the year which is remarkable for a 1st year backer to figure out so quickly, right Mr. Curry? He's pulled in a few picks as of late and while a couple have come from good fortune, you can also see that his coverage skills have dramatically improved. He's getting more and more comfortable with where he needs to be in coverage and I think that it's something he's really worked on since the Niners and Lions games, where the short middle of our defense was 7-11 (Open all day and night). I'd love to see him blitz on obvious passing situations more often because I think he has the speed and strength to get home.
Big props to Walter Thurmond for playing a great corner. Didn't look any different than when Browner's out there, except the height thing, of course. Great job by the 0-Line too. When it was still a game, the line was blowing up holes like Ron Jeremy. And how many times did you see our pass pro lead to Russell having 5+ seconds to throw?Answer: A lot of times. And as bad as Arizona is, they have a front seven that would rank up there with any in the NFL, as long as they're muzzled to prevent spitting.
Big ups to the Twelves! It was pretty bad ass when probably a third of the crowd had cleared out by the 4th quarter and the Cardinals still had problems communicating on offense! You could tell we hadn't scene our boys at home in a month and that we just weren't ready to quiet down. First time in a while we've seen 3 or more false starts in a game too.
By the way, I've had an app on my phone for a few years called Seahawks News by ZenMobi and for some reason Fieldgulls isn't showing up on there anymore. Anybody know why this is? This app is actually how I found out about Fieldgulls in the first place. It's the best app possible when Fieldgulls is on there, what's up? Go Hawks!
