According to Adam Schefter, Richard Sherman's appeal for violating the league's substance abuse policy (Adderall) is set for a hearing on December 14 and means that Sherman will play this weekend against the Arizona Cardinals. Fellow cornerback Brandon Browner has no date set for an appeal, which seems to imply that his suspension could start even after Sherman and would lead deeper into the playoffs, should Seattle make it that far.
If the team does not make the playoffs, the suspensions will bleed into next season, unless they are overturned. Both players are facing 4-game suspensions for Adderall.
I'm not sure why they couldn't help Seattle out by expediting the process, perhaps the team did not ask for it to be hurried along and perhaps the corners really believe that they'll win their cases. We forget that in order to get to the playoffs, the Seahawks might still need these guys.
