Seahawks File Initial Paperwork for Super Bowl Bid
Still very early in the process and it would require a waiver of weather requirements, but great to know our name is at least in there!

The Super Bow to my knowledge is the World Ribbon-Tying Championships

Yes PLEASE!
As for the Seahawks, they shall have stars at elbow and foot...Though they sink through the sea they shall rise again...Death shall have no dominion.
This is why everyone should root for New York to pull it off.
If they do, it could open the floodgates for Super Bowls in other cities besides the same 5 ones.
New York did pull it off.
They got Super Bowl XLVIII (48)

It's kind of a test to see if places with colder weather can still have a successful Super Bowl.
So while they have been awarded Super Bowl XLVIII they haven’t pulled it off yet. If the weather is awful it could be devastating to the chances of a Super Bowl in Seattle.
Apparently we are trying to bid for Super Bowl 50.
I’d love to see Seattle host one, but I think the odds of us being granted 50 is almost none. LA is a good guess, I’d say.
Oh, the old college try.
It’s like the FO is trying to give us a complex or something. No chance in hell they give us 50.

Yeah.
Especially if the stadiums are built by then.

The one factor Levine doesn't bring up
is the league’s express intent to use the SB as incentive in stadium negotiations. I confess I’m surprised we meet the hotel requirements, though. But I suppose the league didn’t have the foresight to state a level of quality requirement when it comes to accommodations.
I’ve felt for a long time, there’s no good reason why the league shouldn’t rotate hosting throughout the 32 franchises — barring some reasonable requirements. Once someone fixes Oakland, they’d become eligible.
No franchise would not benefit from hosting, and the owners should care about that. SB tourism doesn’t generate more revenue in warm climates. The licensing potential for the league remains the same, and arguably if New Orleans is granted an 11th there may be some diminishing returns on the perceived benefit.

What about winter conditions?
Having the Super Bowl in Pittsburgh or Wisconsin in early February in those places is just asking for trouble, especially since those places don’t have a retractable roof.

I know that's something that concerns many people. It wouldn't concern me.
I enjoy cold weather games. If the NFL doesn’t also, why run the season through fall & winter? Why do conference championships get hosted by the top team in the conference, if cold weather not providing a level playing field is a concern?
It’s not a legitimate impediment in my eyes, but I know that it matters for many people and many would need to be convinced to make it happen. I’m under no delusions that it will happen, at least not within the next couple decades, but I just personally think it’s the right thing to do and there’s practically no valid reason not to.
A rotation through 32 franchises would mean outside of New York, a team would host twice over the course of 64 years, which more or less spans the rooting lifetime of any given football fan. Every single occasion would be a very significant event for the city and the franchise. The licensing & royalties the league would stand to gain for any given Super Bowl would not change by host city. San Diego is surely a more lucrative vacation destination than Indianapolis, yet there is no shortage of people who will migrate — Indie was able to “merely” seat 68,000 rather than 70k, but more than 68k traveled to Indianapolis for the event.

Do we still meet the hotel requirements?
The cops shut down most the motels on 99.

What if we get it
And that year it’s a Steelers-49ers Super Bowl? Root for Mt. Rainier to do her thing?
