SEATTLE WA - JANUARY 08: Running back Marshawn Lynch #24 of the Seattle Seahawks jumps across the goalline as he runs for a 67-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter against the New Orleans Saints during the 2011 NFC wild-card playoff game at Qwest Field on January 8 2011 in Seattle Washington. John Schneider: "We are excited to keep Marshawn as a part of what we are building. This is what we were hoping for when we acquired him from Buffalo."
Jay Glazer tweets that the deal is four-years, $31 million, with $17 million guaranteed. Albert Breer tweets that $18 million is guaranteed, but either way this is pretty significant news and a pretty good deal for the Seahawks. It should factor in to what happens at the Draft in April, what happens with the offense this season, and means Lynch will be a staple of Seahawksdom for a few years to come. Pretty sweet.
When we were in GB, John Schneider championed Lynch as possible top pick that year. Now he's signed him long term w/17M gteed.
