Terrell Owens has agreed to a one year deal with the Seattle Seahawks. The 38-year old future Hall of Famer was not re-signed by the Bengals following a surprisingly decent 2010 campaign in which he had 72 catches for 983 yards and 9 touchdowns, and after tearing his ACL in training that offseason, he couldn't get an NFL team to bite. He was out of football in 2011 except for a brief stint with the Allen Wranglers for the IFL.

Owens, 6'3, 224 pounds, reportedly ran a sub-4.5 40 yard dash on Monday in his workout for the Seahawks, an astounding number for a 38-year old one year removed from a torn ACL. He'll now compete for a spot on the Seahawks 53-man roster with the likes of Ricardo Lockette, Kris Durham, and Braylon Edwards as a physical, outside deep threat.

Owens, though pretty much constantly surrounded by controversy over his 15-year NFL career, is a six-time Pro Bowler, five-time All Pro, a member of the NFL 2000's All Decade Team, and a holder dozens of NFL records for receiving. This seems like a low-risk move for the Seahawks, and right in line with their M.O. This front office likes competitive types with chips on their shoulder and/or something to prove, and T.O. has that in spades. Not only does Owens still believe he can play in the NFL at a high level, he has financial motivation to stick with the team. He's apparently been working very hard to get himself back into playing shape, a success that is evidenced by his shocking workout today in which several Seahawks receivers tweeted their positive impressions.
