OT: Hard Knocks

Stay connected for news and updates

Last night HBO debuted its eighth season of Hard Knocks, this season detailing the training camp of the Miami Dolphins. Its hard to think of more compelling sports television, that I can think of, than Hard Knocks. It appeals not only to the hardcore football fan, but to the most casual of observers.

After not signing on with any team in 2011, I had forgotten how much I missed the show. Just watching the debut last night, I didn't want it to end and I can't wait for the next four episodes... and we're talking about the Miami Dolphins here. Of course, a rookie quarterback, rookie head coach, and Chad Johnson will always make for interesting television. And of course Mrs. Tannehill doesn't hurt either.

Hard Knocks hit hard right away by showing the life of an undrafted free agent rookie at the beginning, first to show his excitement of his first training camp, and then show that he was the first cut of the year before he ever got into a practice. This is not a spoiler really because its how the show starts.

Obviously, Reggie Bush is going to make an appearance. Braylon Edwards made a brief appearance trying out for the team and then being told it wasn't going to work out. Braylon Edwards: Not good enough for the Dolphins! Can't wait to find out what sucker team signs him- oh wait.

Thoughts on Hard Knocks? Also this is an OT, so, thoughts on anything else?
