Can you feel it, can you hear it? Can you walk out to the tables outside with a schooner of your fav and hear the roar from the Clink? Where is that joint that is wholed away in south down Seattle town that you can grab a pint watch a DangeRuss TD toss and give an acknowledging nod to the ghost of a smiling Chief Sealth at the end of the bar in Pike Place Market?
Maybe it’s Georgetown, Pioneer Square, on the waterfront, 1st thru 9th aves., Alaskan Way to the I-5, Jesus Christ Made Seattle Under Protest, First Hill, Capitol Hill, Beacon Hill, and every other nook and cranny near the football mecca of the Seahawks. Maybe it’s from the rooftop of a downtown building, or from your boss’s office on the 16th floor that looks right down into the belly of the Beastmode. Where can the jumbo fish and fries taste so much better as you see the Tate retaliate across the goal line on the plasma and you hear the crowd shake the walls and vibrate the stool you’re sitting on…?
Where is that place or places that you can go and take in the game without being at the game. Feel the electrifying roar of the crowd without being in the Clink. Does that place exist nearby the stadium? Where you can see the game on the big screen, but hear the crowd from outside. Can you go and enjoy the pre-game tailgate carnival and then enjoy the game from nearby? If it’s special to you and you don’t want to ruin it by inviting us in, that’s alright. Just tell us about it without names or addresses. The key ingredients are to be able to hear the crowd live and feel that visceral roar roll over you as you watch and listen to the game at your chosen place nearby.
It won’t be the same as being in the Clink (what could be better than that) of course, but, it could be all kinds of special on its own. Just as good but in a whole different way, like sitting in the lazy boy in the family room at home, watching the big screen with piped in Clinkmeggadon like that Maxell. Maybe it’s not even a restaurant or tavern, maybe it’s a park with your iphone and a sixer, maybe it’s a Rainier Ale on the steps of the St. Vincent De Paul thrift store with your new drinking buddy and a radio or sitting in your RV near the stadium you and your buds are going nuts and the wife is scheming like Walter White on how to end this obsession of yours (it won’t work).
What’s your place to take in the game at the game but not be in the stadium for the game?
