Winning the close games

We are 8-1.

More then half of the games we have already played this year were close. We have won 4 of them and lost 1.

Does that mean that we are not a good enough team and just got lucky or does it indicate that we are winners and we know how to get it done?

I decided to do a little research about the past 10 SB champions and find out how they did during the season in games ending with less then 7 points wins or loses.

Here is my case study results:

2012 Ravens – 5-3. Won SB by less then a TD.

2011 Giants – 5-1. Won SB by less then a TD.

2010 Packers – 1-5. (Damn they really couldn't handle the pressure)

2009 Saints – 3-1.

2008 Steelers – 5-1. Won SB by less then a TD.

2007 Giants – 4-1. Won SB by less then a TD.

2006 Colts – 6-2. (In my mind Manning blew every team apart…)

2005 Stealers – 1-2. (YES…stealers…)

2004 Patriots – 2-1. Won SB by less then a TD.

2003 Patriots – 6-1. Won SB by less then a TD.

In view of the above my educated opinion on tight games is the following-

If you want to win the SB you better learn how to win those tight games unless you are from Pittsburg in which case the refs will help you steal the SB somehow or you are Aaron Rodgers.

All those narrow escapes look much better now.

GO HAWKS.
