So I've been thinking about this for a while and, yes, call me a little bit of a conspiracy theorist:
Doesn't it seem like the Seahawks will keep Harvin shut down until the New Orleans game on Monday Night Football?
Let's look at our next couple games: At Atlanta, home for Minnesota, bye, home for New Orleans (MNF), away at San Francisco.
Now, as you all will probably agree, our season (at least the NFC West and #1 Overall seed), likely come down to those last two games, right? If we win both of those games it's HIGHLY unlikely we wouldn't end up with the #1 Seed in the NFC. Right?
And right now we're sitting on a weapon that NO ONE has seen on this team. A guy who we just gave $67 million because we think he takes our offense to a completely different level. Even if Harvin is completely healthy, do you think Pete Carroll wants to give Sean Payton and Jim Harbaugh, two of the smartest coaches in the NFL, an opportunity to scout film on Harvin before they face him? I know Harvin will want to play in that Minnesota game (his old team), but the Seahawks should win that game without him with relative ease. Obviously he won't play this week, but if he "conveniently" sits out next week, too, I'm thinking it was a very calculated (and brilliant) decision by Carroll and Bevell to unleash their secret weapon.
What do you think?
