First post here on Field Gulls, so please, go a bit easy on me.
I have to preface these thoughts with the following: Yes, I do post on a semi-regular basis on Arrowhead Pride. Yes, I do follow the Kansas City Chiefs. But my heart has beaten Seahawks' Blue since 1983, only because I remember the great games between Seattle and Kansas City during the old AFC West rivalry. The 51-48 OT win by the 'Hawks is still one of the greatest match-ups of all-time in my book. I've taken the good with the bad, followed both teams through their roller coaster rides throughout each season, and this year seemed oh-so-promising. Until now.
I posted in my blog that all I wanted for Christmas this year was a Seattle-Kansas City match-up in the Super Bowl, especially after the win streak posted by both teams. But now that the Chiefs have lost three straight, two of them to Denver...that possibility is becoming a bit more distant. The last two games at Arrowhead have proven to be let-downs, and the antidote to both will be more tally marks in the "W" column for the 'Hawks.
It's becoming more and more likely that it'll be the Broncos, not the Chiefs, that will square off against the 'Hawks at East Rutherford. To that I say...
Show me some Manning-face. Repeatedly. Let him see nothing but a beautiful sea of blue jerseys swarming him, shutting down his receivers and burying his running backs in the backfield.
