JR Sweezy... The Double Agent

So I heard some rumors you guys were worried about the defensive line. I think it's time I came clean.

Well, what you guys don't know, and what I was not able to reveal until now........ Pete, John and myself drafted Sweezy to be the franchise Defensive Tackle. I know I know... i'm sorry. I don't like keeping these things to myself. There is a time and place for everything. Now is that time, here is that place. Let me explain ;)

One day, not so very long ago, Pete, John and myself were shootin the breeze. The topic was Richard Sherman. John mentioned how wonderful it was that Sherm had wide receiver experience. We all agreed that while it wasn't the only reason for our corner backs success, it was a damn big piece of the puzzle. Later on, halfway between a White Russian and a fine Cuban, Pete drew in a deep breath and the knowledge flowed " I've got it boys... we will draft a defensive tackle to play on the offensive line". This, my friends, was the genesis of something great. A short time later, and right on time, the idea hit me. "Pete" I says... "I'll do you one better brother. Hows about we take a defensive lineman, put him in the huddle for a year... and then we put his ass right back in the trenches fighting for the good guys". Petes brow furled, he was deep in thought. Finally the look of a reasoned man shown forth. It seemed to be the right idea. Just bring the guy over long enough to find the holes and weaknesses, and then back to business as usual. "Not bad kid" he says. "one day soon you'll be running your own team".

Not to be outdone, and three sheets to the wind, John chimed in "Well i'm your huckleberry... we take a defensive tackle, move him to offense, back to defense, AND BACK TO MOTHER FUCKING OFFENCE! FUCK HARBAUGH!"

And because John was ready for bed, and the idea had already passed into light, that is where the fun ended. Game. set, match. Sweezy was drafted.

In all seriousness though, what do you guys think? Why does the cop think like the robber? To get inside his head and beat him at his own game.. What did a year at offensive guard do for Sweezy? In my humble opinion I think it has made him a better defensive player. I mentioned Sherman earlier, but of course I don't think he's going to have that kind of success. Scruggs was drafted in the 7th. Scruggs is a nice player. Sweezy is 15 pounds heavier then Scruggs. I don't see any reason why Sweezy couldn't go back to where he's played all his life and help us in our time of need. With having switched from defense to offense and started in the NFL, his confidence is sky high. Shit Sweezy probably feels like he could swing out wide and catch a few passes. And why not, he just had an amazing rookie year. Let's bring all that confidence, and those new tricks of the trade he picked up, back to the the right side of the ball.
