The Seahawks are Superbowl contenders, and damn it feels good to be a gangster! Hop on the bandwagon pundits everywhere! This team is not your Grandpa’s Seahawks. Actually, I have never met your Grandpa so maybe they are his Seahawks, but nonetheless, they are young, brash and will rearrange your dental work for a measly 35 million over 5 years. It feels like we’re in Vegas and the NFL slot machine is swinging around for that final BAR to pay us our championship millions. Along the way though, there are still those who don’t believe the Seahawks are anything more than ill-disciplined, Adderall popping, rah-rah coaching nobody’s. Let’s take a brief look into why I believe Heath Evans hates the Seahawks. I will be making snap judgements based on minimal (see "no") research and 0 inside sources for this. Journalism 101 really.
Has anyone else noticed that Heath Evans is not buying the hype of the Seahawks? I watched 2 clips from NFL network recently of Heath bashing or overlooking the Seahawks completely. The first is Heath commenting on the PED suspensions. The second is Heath talking about the Carolina Panthers schedule with no emphasis on week 1! While certainly entitled to his opinion it struck me as odd that without any caveat for a tough game he had the Panthers beating the Seahawks in week 1. The Seahawks could stumble on the road, but I think it would certainly be an upset. In the "Too much hype" link above Heath makes his case that the PED suspensions prove how undisciplined the Seahawks are and will cost them wins this year. Without a peep for Hustle Wilson he also mentions 9-something start Kaepernick and Ryan mothertrucking Tannehill as possibly elite quaterbacks that Carolina faces, but not until mid-season.
All of this dismissal seems a bit far-fetched, especially from a former Seahawks draft pick. I realize Seattle has not won anything yet, but to totally dismiss the team seems extreme. While watching whcornell’s Rain City Redemption series (a must see) it all came together when I saw Evans on the sidelines during the Beastquake game. It all made sense. Heath Evans hates the Seahawks because his entire team couldn’t tackle Marshawn Lynch. Heath hate me. Heath it’s ok to feel bitterness over a GOAT run that shattered your championship dreams… just be honest about your bias.
