Remember that idea about buying a Seahawks themed brick at Levi Stadium? I decided to go an organize it. Honestly, I didn't know that sentiment was present in Field Gulls here, but I started it over at /r/Seahawks. Apparently, this effort has picked up way more publicity than I thought it would (aka none, because it's Reddit and who does journalism on Reddit?).
Anyways, we've raised almost $900 dollars for it, which is absolutely incredible. In the sub-Reddit, we're debating what to write on the brick, and discussing what to do with the extra money.
- A lot of the consensus has been to donate the extra money to Bryan Stow (the Dodgers fan who was beaten into a coma), but we're still going to have all the contributors vote on where to send the money, whether it be on extra bricks, or other charities, etc. (and apparently Brock and Danny apparently already said we'd donate to Bryan Stow, so we pretty much have to now)
- We're letting everyone vote on what to write on the brick. $1 = 1 vote.
If you'd like a say, and contribute some money towards lulz and a good cause, let me know! It'd be more difficult if you don't have a Reddit account, since that's where the majority of the contributors are, and so that's where the majority of the discussion and voting is going to take place. If you don't want to create a Reddit account, just e-mail me through Crowdtilt and I'll do my best to keep you updated.
One issue we're finding out is that all the publicity is making it pretty difficult to come up with ideas on what to write (Thanks a lot, Nick Eaton). If you have any ideas on what might get past the vetting process, please let me know, I'd love to hear it!
