You are going to hate it, and me. I even hate me for posting it.
The separation is in the preparation.
Preparation takes time, commitment, dedication, focus.
And none was better at it the RW. First in, weight room, video room, last out, eat, sleep, first in, weight room, video room, last out, eat, sleep, right?
Well…with success come expectations, fame and celebrity status.
Suddenly it's –
The Russell Wilson passing academy. (Yes, after 1 year in the NFL)
Football camps in Richmond, Raleigh, Madison, Spokane and Seattle.
The Russell Wilson investments.
The Russell Wilson foundation.
The first pitch at the Mariners game.
Children hospital, hall of fame benefit
Helping a Hero, fighting Diabetes
Speaking to students at SeaTac
Family insurance, commercials, interviews, Q&A, Joins the show, speaks with….
The guy is a Hero, a Saint. Everything we could hope for on and off the field.
And then I read…
...But Monday, players and coaches already were returning to Virginia Mason Athletic Center from their extended breaks to begin preparing for a season...
Quinn was back, and busy as usual on his first day in the office since June 21. So were All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman, Harvin and fellow pass-catchers Sidney Rice and Zach Miller, linebacker Mike Morgan and linemen Breno Giacomini and Michael Bennett. Linebacker K.J. Wright, long snapper Clint Gresham and tight end Sean McGrath also were around…
And you just know that quarterback Russell Wilson was somewhere dissecting video because, as he is fond of saying, “the separation is in the preparation.”
No he wasn't. He just wasn't there. He had other noteworthy activities.
I kinda miss the "First in, weight room, video room, last out, eat, sleep" 3rd round rookie QB nobody heard about.
OK...done...you can kill me now.
