Visiting other stadiums/ fan etiquette

I would like to know people's opinions and experiences about rooting for the Seahawks on the road. I live in Southern California, and am planning on attending the game in San Francisco in December. I'm wondering what kind of grief I should expect were I to wear a Seahawks jersey to the game, or even just a hat.

I have read some horror stories about Candlestick, but perhaps I haven't done enough research, and anecdotes are hardly scientific.

I will be attending the game alone, do not plan to drink, and will be deliberately unconfrontational (other than the jersey of course.) I may not cheer or even clap, depending on how it feels.

Regarding expected etiquette for opposing fans, is it generally considered okay to wear road attire? Is wearing the opposing jersey an expected part of the game, or is it seen as intentionally confrontational? I've attended games in Seattle, but honestly don't remember or wasn't paying attention to what it was like for opposing fans. Intensity of the game probably impacts how riled up home fans would get. I went to a game with no incident in Phoenix at the end of the '10 season where both teams were eliminated, the game a formality. Same with a game Huskies game at USC, but the outcome was known all along and the intensity level low.

Does anyone have advice or first hand experience about attending a high intensity road game and wearing Seahawks attire?
