Does this change anything with the outcome of the game?
I say there's at least a 30% chance the Seahawks lose this game. My biggest worry is that the D just can't get enough pressure on Cam Newton to force him into making mistakes. If they can't force him into making bad decisions by putting him under pressure, he'll be able to utilize his big play ability. You can't give most of the QB's in the league all day to throw, they will eventually make something happen.
Also with it being the first game of the year, the 'Hawks are going to have to iron out the kinks just like every other team. This is going to leave the team more vulnerable to random chance early as opposed to later in the season when everyone is playing as more cohesive unit. This could allow to Carolina to get some big plays early and get momentum rolling. They will already have emotion on their side, the crowd should be pretty fired up cuz it's the opener and there is still hope for every team in the NFL. Unlike later in the season when hopes and dreams have been tempered by reality.
