JS/PC have told us honestly and clearly their system of draft analysis.
They rate prospects for positions on this teams style. Then, they compare those ratings
with the players currently in those positions. The prospect with the best chance to beat out
the current starter, is rated higher.
I would suspect the draft to go OT/WR or the reverse, but if the OT has a, for example,
7 rating over Bowie, and the WR a 6 over Kearse, and the best center has a 9 rate over
Jeanpierre, since Unger is probably a cap casualty next year, like Bryant and Clemons
were this year, then the center prospect is higher rated on the JS/PC board. Especially,
if the two best centers are not expected to last to the end of the second round.
JS/PC will take the best center at 32,and the national writers will have fits.
None of the really good writers on this great site have used this style of analysis,
complicated as it is, but it is the Seahawks way and we should be trying to project
what they will really do, not pick off of the SI Big Board.
