Pretend the Brains decide the Hawks want Jackson. They want the spectacular horizontal threat of Harvin and they want it pared to the terrific down field threat of Jackson. Game changers both.
We all know we have to sign Sherman, Thomas and Russell to long term contracts... how can we do that and sign Jackson... we can't... - UNLESS - we think outside the box.
Lets say, we trade Sherman for a top 10ish, first round draft choice, (my trade choice as I think he is the least important of Sherman, Thomas and Wilson). With that first draft choice we either take the best CB available to replace Sherman OR lets say we take Evans (or some other "big bodied" vertical red zone threat) OR we draft one of the top OLine prospects OR one of the defensive edge guys...you get the idea...the options are nearly endless.
Lets not restrict ourselves to only considering the obvious. To stay great we might have to rethink every possibility. We cannot afford to paint ourselves into corners of our own making.
'Compete Forever" demands we use all our "little grey cells" and not just follow the road we think we're tied to.
What do you think?
