D.K. Metcalf won’t play in week 2 of the preseason. General Manager John Schneider told ESPN 710 Seattle that the wide receiver will miss tonight’s action @ the Minnesota Vikings with a sore leg that needs checking.
The 2019 second-round pick was targeted four times in week 1 of the preseason, for which he was a “wait and see” pre-game. Metcalf’s two deep opportunities resulted in incompletions, with the first overthrown by Geno Smith and the second dropped by Metcalf. We will have to wait until week 3, the dress rehearsal of the tantalizing offseason, to see Metcalf again—presuming his leg is healthy and passes said checks. The hype train is halted...momentarily.

Schneider also revealed that other Seahawks will not suit up. “We’re going to protect some guys this evening,” he said. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported that K.J. Wright would join Bobby Wagner on the inactive list. This is likely to also include second-year linebacker Shaquem Griffin. who has hurt his knee and also needs a scan.
Pelissero added that both Kirk Cousins and Russell Wilson will see action.
