Senior Bowl Review: Defense - All Star Circuit - Rotoworld.com
The purpose of Senior Bowl week is to supplement completed area-scout evaluations in practice and interviews. No evaluations are based on a single week’s performance, but certain prospects did help (or potentially hurt) their status and will force evaluators to take a second look at their live game action. I will breakdown each position below and rank participating performers accordingly. Please note, this is not strictly based on how these prospects did this week, instead it is based on their complete evaluation up to this point.

NFL salaries by team and position | Sport | guardian.co.uk
The National Football League has a salary cap, an upper limit on what teams can spend on their players, of $120.6m. But where the teams choose to spend that money is entirely up to them. Some, like Tampa Bay, overload their offence, while others invest heavily in defence. These figures are based on individual 'cap hit' numbers which include base salary and bonuses for the 2012-13 season.

How Joe Flacco's Big Arm Can Exploit the 49ers' Secondary - The Triangle Blog - Grantland
After a decade of mostly familiar names, Super Bowl XLVII is set to provide some welcome new blood under center. Sunday will mark the first title game in five years to feature two quarterbacks who’ve never been here before, but that’s about where their similarities in experience end. For Colin Kaepernick, this start in New Orleans comes barely three months after the first of his NFL career. For Joe Flacco, it’s the next step in his playoff success. But even with all the pressure young Kaepernick is set to face, in my mind, and in terms of scheme, support, and circumstance, there will be more of it placed on Flacco.

Russell Wilson: Marc Trestman Knew I Could Play QB Before N.C. State " CBS Chicago
"(Trestman) was the guy that said, ‘This guy can play.’ I already knew that," Wilson told The McNeil and Spiegel Show. "I knew my ability, but he came up to me and he was the coach that said, ‘This guy can play. We need to offer this guy (a scholarship) right now.’ So, N.C. State offered me (a scholarship) right on the spot. Coach Trestman knew that I had the ability. I have a lot of respect for coach Trestman. I talk to him probably once a week, maybe a little bit less than that. I talk to him a good amount. We’ve always kept in touch over the years.

The Tape Never Lies: Oher and McKinnie are too strong to let the pocket collapse | 100 Yards and Running | Blogs | theScore.com
NFL teams are facing a crisis. They’re lacking quality offensive tackles to protect their franchise quarterbacks. The Baltimore Ravens were one of the teams that struggled with that, but they found a solution when they reshuffled their offensive line, notably moving left tackle Michael Oher to the right and bringing in Bryant McKinnie to start in Oher’s old position. In the three playoff games they’ve played thus far, Oher and McKinnie have only allowed a total of four sacks, giving Joe Flacco a firmly-protected pocket while he leads the offense to the Super Bowl.

Advanced NFL Stats: Clutch Persistence?
I recently wrote about clutch QB performance in the post-season. This post will take a look at clutch QB performance in the regular season and how well it persists from year to year. The approach is to compare how well a QB performs in high-leverage situations to how well he performs without respect to leverage. To do this, we can compare his Expected Points Added (EPA) to his Win Probability Added (WPA). This involves computing an "expected" WPA for each QB's season based on his EPA. The difference between a QB's actual WPA and his expected WPA could be considered his "clutch-WPA."
