How would you feel if the Hawks signed/ traded for Peyton Manning?

Assuming of course that he becomes available and healthy. This is just something that I've been thinking about the last few days. It rarely comes up on Field Gulls and when it does it's quickly dismissed. I wanted to start a discussion about it to hear what you guys have to say. The way I see it, this team is ready for an elite QB to step in. wouldn't solve the QBOTF problem but acquiring Manning would give the Hawks an excellent shot at a Championship in the next 2 years. I don't think it would hurt the Hawks long term unless it meant foregoing a chance to draft someone like RG3. I know we're building for the future etc but why not do everything you can to win now?

Random (Tebow!) thought

You know whose ass this defense would kick? Tim Tebow's ass. If you've noticed from the Patriots game, especially the second half, Tim Tebow absolutely blows chunks against tight man coverage since receivers do not come open quick enough, and he panics like crazy. He does ok against Cover-1 looks which he gets a lot with the need for a safety spy, especially focusing on Thomas, but I don't know that we'd need that much Cover-1. He's a tough runner, sure, but I think our linebackers and Kam Chancellor would enjoy hitting him. This was your random non-sequitur thought of the week.

Konz Roster Spot

With the Konz headed to IR with a torn ACL, who do you think the Hawks will sign or promote to fill his roster spot? My opinion is if Zack Miller and/or Cameron Morrah won't be ready for Cleveland, it has to be a pass catching TE, and my bet is simply promoting John Nalbone from the PS or re-signing Dominique Byrd who I think is still a free agent.

Calling Chicago Seahawks Fans!

I just relocated to Chicago a few months back and am looking to find a Hawks friendly bar out here. I've tried searching around on Google and Yelp but have yet to find any solid leads.There seem to be lots of team specific bars out here and I'd love to find a place out here were fellow 12's can get together and watch some good 'ole Seattle football. So if there are any other long range Seahawks fans out here in Chicagoland let me know where you guys hang out and I'll meet you there in my Earl Thomas jersey!

What jersey should I get?

Hey guys, I'm an irregular reader here at Field Gulls, but I had a question I was wondering if you guys could help me with. I'm not a huge fan, but I don't really have any Seahawks apparel, and I wanted to get a jersey. The problem is, I can't decide what player to get. I figure you could go with Hasselbeck, but he's old and I guess it would only be for the nostalgia. I want the jersey to still be relevant in a few years if you know what I mean, so I was hoping you guys could help me pick out a good player for one. I had some ideas like Lofa Tatupu or Earl Thomas, but I think you guys could give me a better idea. Thanks for your time.

OT: Smartphones

Gulls- I use a prehistoric phone I got for free from LG years ago, but it's time for me to become a part of modern society and get a smartphone. However, I'm pretty stuck between the 3 main phones (iphone, droid, windows phone). For anyone who uses those phones, what do you think? What do you like/dislike about them? I'm interested in any input you have. Thanks.
