The 76 Station in Edmonds

This may be the most pointless chat ever but what occurred earlier today amused me. If anyone is familiar with the 76 Gas Station at Edmonds Way as you near the 100th street intersection, then you may know what I'm talking about. There is a big electronic screen right under the 76 sign that shows the time, temperature, promotional deals, car wash rates, etc. They also have predictions for the Seahawks and Huskies football team put up every week. Just about for as long as I've ridden past that area the last 3 years or so they've predicted a win. Today they had the Seahawks prediction up for the Jags game. Final Score: Seahawks 3 Jaguars 2 Can't make that up. Whoever fiddles with the board has the Seahawks winning with a field goal and the Jags getting a safety. That's probably the first time I've ever seen them make a humorous prediction in a long time. Go on with your day.

Off-Topic: Anyone Here Ride Sound Transit Light Rail?

Pretty big weekend with the opening of Sound Transit's light rail line from Tukwila to Seattle. Just wanted to know if anyone here decided to test it out while it was still free to ride. I didn't go but I saw people heading for Westlake when I was downtown yesterday.

Touch/Tackle football on Sundays?

Would anyone be interested in playing flag/touch football at 4pm in Judkins Park (Seattle near I-90) on Sundays? I played a game with an LLer two weeks ago, but we couldn't get enough people last week. Nothing set in stone, just sending out a feeler to see if there is interest.

I noted in an article that in addition to the 6 undrafted FA signed after the draft, there are 9 unsigned guys in camp on a tryout basis. Anybody know who these 9 guys are?

idk if many of you know but it has come to my attenion Dj hackett was released by the panthers. i honestly think he should be signed. the chemistry is already there. and we all know he threat he can be. but the big problem is our new found WR depth. so this may be a long shot. but should definitely be looked at

Salary Cap Question re: Stafford

I have a Question for anyone who understands the salary cap better than I do. I'm wondering if the Hawks can AFFORD to take Matt Stafford at #4, keep Hasselbeck and Wallace at least through 2009, and sign all the other anticipated draft picks? Can we do all that under the salary cap, or would taking Stafford mean we have to release someone to clear cap space?

Question about salary cap

Is it accurate to say that only the 53 man roster counts toward salary cap? Not the practice squad? What about when a player is on IR? Does that free up $ for the team to sign replacements?
