Few receivers as great as Joey Galloway have worked with a lowlier collection of quarterbacks: Scattershot Rick Mirer, Decrepit Warren Moon, Gino-Torretta Gino Torretta…the Dallas years: Frosty Quincy Carter, Ryan Leaf, Sucktastic Chad Hutchinson…the Tampa years: Noodle-armed Brian Griese, Splenetic Chris Simms, Bench Me Bruce Gradkowski—it could be argued that when Peter-Pan Jeff Garcia signed in 2007, Galloway was gifted the best quarterback of his career. Ouch.

When we talk about Galloway as a 10,000 yard receiver, the first receiver in history to post 1,000 yard seasons at 34, 35 and 36, we must acknowledge he did so in spite of the Muppet chorus huckin' the ball somewhere near him. If we can one day figure out a way to separate a receiver’s performance from his quarterback’s, we may finally begin to see Galloway as what he truly is: a Hall of Fame receiver.
