Quick Cap: Momentum Lost

Okay, the sky probably isn't falling, and this game probably won't have a major impact on anything that will happen in the playoffs. Not trying to be alarmist, but the Hawks did hurt themselves, literally and figuratively, and in a game where nothing else of import happened, it's what I had to write about. So...

Beck, injured right, throwing hand. Even if it doesn't keep him from playing, it will affect his play. If you believe in momentum, well...it's lost. Many injuries are not fluke, or single play injuries, but the cumulative effect of being hit over and over again. This game has injured Seattle and made it more likely they will suffer injuries throughout the playoffs.

Leonard Weaver and Maurice Morris sure have looked awesome, huh? Bad defense, sure (26th to be exact), but kicking butt is kicking butt. The Falcons are not Oberlin, y'know?

Not much else to say, this game was meaningless, and all it cost us was the health of our quarterback, nickelback and pro bowl corner.

I think Wilson and Trufant are fine
I'm worried about Matt though, cause it will affect him.
Josh Brown is better than you. The Rest of the team is worse.

Jesus John
Settle down if Hass was really hurt that bad they would say something on TV.

And Tru is fine

Not trying to be dour...
I'm referring to the whole "cumulative" thing, as in, we've hurt our overall team health without accomplishing anything. Not saying the sky is falling.

Ok
It just kind of sounded like the sky is falling without us really knowing the extent of the injury

What happened to Wilson
Is he hurt bad?

I'm sure he's fine
he was returning kicks after the injury.

Thanks
I only ask because I was not able to see the game and I can't find info on him, Hass, or Tru

John
I think you are overreacting just a little bit.
Coming up on Showtime, it's Shaun of the Dead.

Seneca
Overall, had a great game. But he is a turnover machine.

Sorry guys...
If Beck or Tru had been seriously injured, you'd be demanding blood. I'm not going to change my commentary because Seattle got lucky. If Beck had been seriously injured, my recap would be nearly identical. It was a stupid decision, it nearly cost Seattle two of its best players, it won't likely have a directly traceable impact on the playoffs, but it's my duty to point it out. Again, not being alarmist, it's how I previewed the game, if this game had a story, I would say nearly losing Beck is it.

Once Jones was declared inactive
That should of been it for Hasselbeck, no reason to play Matt without Big Walt protecting his blindside.

The Wilson and Trufant thing didn't bother me as much.  Babs has been ahead of Wilson on the depth chart anyways.  I wouldn't have played Trufant, but I can let that one slide.

The fact that Hasselbeck even took the field was inexcusable.

To me Tru has to play
just because of depth cause if you take him out than that means his replacement is playing all the defensive snaps and is playing all the ST snaps which would leave that player more open for injury just from fatigue alone.

shrug
from ryan over at Turf Show Times

"I know that Brad Wells had to manually set the matchups, with the normal roster rules applying. I beat Blogging the Boys last week for the NFC league championship and Fooch from Niners Nation won the losers bracket."

momentum
I agree I don't know why the hawks were expending so much energy in a meaningless game. Honor or pride? We lost anyway, to a horrible team, with our quarterback in practically the whole game. Thats humiliating enough. I'll second the notion we would be screaming for blood if there were a more serious/obvious injury.
