Sunday, January 6th, 2008

Giants @ Buccaneers - 1:00 PM ET/10:00 AM PT, FOX

Titans @ Chargers - 4:30 PM ET/1:30 PM PT, CBS

Commentators: Jim Nantz and Phil Simms

You're welcome in advance, GO SEAHAWKS!

Update [2007-12-30 20:21:47 by Shrug]: Moved this to the front page, and retitled it to make it Seahawks-centric. Mookie, regular royalty rates apply. (Ahem.)

Note: This is the Seahawks 3rd Saturday playoff game in 4 seasons. The Seahawks are 2-1, including someone named Romo gifting one to the whole friggin city of Seattle!

A place to bury strangers.

The NFC East's punishment for media oversaturation
Is to have Joe Buck and Troy Aikman announce every possible game that they play.

I think there was a stretch last year where that team announced announced Philly @ Washington, the next week Philly @ New York Giants, the following week Dallas @ Philly, Giants @ Redskins, then announced the Giants @ Philly playoff game.

Ray Willis
Willis looked good today, really seemed to give the running game a boost. Wonder if he, like Pork Chop will get subbed in and out during the playoffs?

I might have been imagining thing but I will have to watch the Tivo to see if he was as good as I thought he was.

so
i'll be at work for most of the 'hawks game. i get off at 6 (4 for you in the screwed up time zone), and should be able to get my ass in front of a tv for the conclusion.

i can't wait for that steelers-jags game though, that will be football at its best.

btw, i am rooting for the redskins, because i think they could go into dallas and beat them. just fyi.

for starters
it's they're.

the redskins are playing the best football in the nfc right now and clinton portis is the best running back in the nfc right now. enough said.

Redskins: 24, 'Hawks: 23 Hasselbeck will cry at the end of game.

DeAngelo Williams and Dominic Rhodes?
Portis has 180 yards on 45 carries the last two games, one of which was in a game that didn't matter to the defense and just 85.5 YPG over the last 4.

Rhodes is in the AFC.
I reject your reality and substitute my own!

oh yeah
Oakland's too irrelevant for me to bother remember what conference they're in.

by Matthew on Dec 31, 2007 1:18 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

it's still just 2 games
and overall he's been pretty average this year.

Going by DPAR he's about on par with Lendale White and Kolby Smith and ranks 32nd overall.

Sure he's been hot, but Matthew pointed out two equally hot running backs.  Would you expect Rhodes to have a big post-season because of two games?

Josh Brown is better than you. The Rest of the team is worse.

by MFAN on Dec 31, 2007 1:07 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

I wouldn't even call him "hot"
seriously, like Dallas was trying?
