Seattle Ships Boulware to Houston for Jason Babin/Author Makes Googly Eyes at Tim Ruskell
Awesome news, as Boulware was essentially on the chopping block; i.e. this is the something for nothing trade smart GM's make.
Here's what we need to know about Babin: He's 27, a former first round pick with big tools (28 reps on the bench, a very quick first step) who has been completely misused as an outside linebacker in Houston. Returning to his preferred position, he will help Seattle's pass rush for this year and work into being a long-term replacement in subsequent seasons.
Tim Ruskell once again scores with a savvy move, shipping off a player that was on his way out in Seattle for a former first round defensive end in his prime.

agreed
I fully expected us to release Boulware, instead we get some needed help from a player in his prime.

Time to watch some college football.
Actually, while we have a moment. What level of posting works for everyone here? I'm capable of 3,000 words+ a day (always been an alacritous writer), but I think at some point people just don't have the time to take down 3 or 4 posts a day. What's the limit, does anyone want to see more posting? Also, what features have you guys liked? Anything you would want to see more of? Now that it's mostly my blog, I've taken the kid gloves off and showcased more of my voice. I will also start doing regular podcasts preceding each game. I'm still not sure about WPA, I love the idea and understand how to do it on a field position level, but haven't figured out how to properly evaluate first downs and game situation. Regular WPA starts by analyzing every play of a few years of football and figuring out the probability of winning considering every game situation, I have neither the time, the resources nor the programming skill to do that, but I have a few ideas, it will be bastardized version, but it won't be inaccurate. I'll keep working on it, and if I make some sort of breakthrough--well, let's just say it might appear after a game sometime.
