Is Plack gone?
http://rodpedersen.blogspot.com/
Saw this link on Seahawks addicts, not sure how credible it is, but it's there none the less.
Not sure what to make of this, Plack didn't look very good on Sunday but that might have not been his fault. Plack was awesome in 2006, struggled in 2007 and was hurt at the start of 2008, so I think it is possible the Hawks have decided to move on.
What is everyone's take on this?

2008 DVOA Projections are out
http://www.footballoutsiders.com/2008/09/03/ramblings/dvoa-ratings/6516/
Here are the DVOA projections for 2008 from Football Outsiders. I am a little surprised to see us with the projected 6th best offense and 12th defense. I imagine our 3rd and 1 failures have a lot to do with the rebound in offense along with the solid off-season additions.
For those who don't want to click the link for whatever reason the Hawks projected DVOA for offense is 16.1% and -3.0%* for defense. Special teams checks in at 17th in the league with a 0.2%
* a minus for defense is a positive not a negative.

LL on Yahoo! Sports
So according to this article the M's are the 1st team officially eliminated from the playoffs!, which means we'll get to here the front office talk about how we were in it until the end of August.
This article also contains a quote from LL. It's probably not a big deal, but I thought it was pretty cool to see LL getting some attention by the national media.
For some reason being the 1st team eliminated makes everything worth it.

Just go away Carlos
http://blog.seattletimes.nwsource.com/mariners/2008/08/ms_lose_a_yawner.html
I don't think there is anything to say. You're the one with the 4-13 record and an ERA close to 6.
I understand that Silva is frustrated and maybe what he's saying is true, but it sounds pretty ridiculous after a game in which you gave up 5 runs.
This was my favorite quote from Silva: "Maybe Chief has to go and grab somebody from his neck and throw him into the wall and something's going to change,'' he said. "I'm very close to doing that, so write that down.''
Again, you're the one with the 5.93 ERA, someone should probably throw you into the wall.
Go away Carlos, you can keep the money.

Some good news in Hawks Land
Holmgren was on KJR this morning (at least that's what I hear through the grapevine and seahawks addicts, since I don't live in Seattle.) Holmgren mentioned some things that are very encouraging for the Hawks in 2009.
1. Rob Sims is the likely starter at RG. I know John and most of us have been Sims supporters.
2. The Hawks will be going with a running back by committee! No running back will get more than 25 carries a game and Morris should factor in heavily. Sounds like Morris will be a hawk next season! I personally expect Duckett to fill Weaver's role before Strong got hurt last season.
3. sounds like Lawrence Jackson (LoJack) will be the starting DE with Tapp coming in as a situational pass-rusher. This is probably for the better as Jackson is probably a more complete DE. Tapp seemed to struggle down the stretch last year and should benefit from this.

D.D Lewis is back
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/seahawks/2004305356_webhawk25.html
It's always nice to see old faces come back. Lewis should help on special teams.
P.S. What is everyones take on Olindo Mare?

Julius Jones is in town
http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/football/archives/133613.asp
I'm not a huge Jones fan, but his signing would be the end of Alexander for sure, unless the team wants to carry 17,000 running backs. I like Morris, but Jones is probably a little bit better...just my opinion.
I also think that Jones/Duckett would be a real good combo.

Crumpler = Titans!!!!
No link, but I just saw on NFL Network that Adam Schefter is reporting that the Titans will sign TE Alge Crumpler.
I fully expect the casual fans to bash Ruskell for this.
I don't think Crumpler would have been awful, but I think he'll be pretty average and not worth the money (especially for the Hawks).

Wahle = a Seahawk!!
Good News Mike Wahle signs with the Hawks
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/football/nfl/02/14/wahle.seattle/index.html
Not sure what the contract is.
Nice start to the off-season.
Update: Let's review, signing Wahle:
Improves two line positions, one drastically.
Gives Seattle, should they re-sign Lock (probably this one) or draft any of this draft's bevy of left tackles (should be this one) a much improved rush blocking line and one of the best pass blocking lines in the NFL.
Allows excellent draft flexibility, ensuring Ruskell can stick to the "best available player" model that has led to so many successful drafts.
And here's the juice: Flexibility means the Seahawks first round pick is someone to get excited about. Very. I'll show you why tomorrow.

6 Hawks going to the Pro Bowl!!
Proud day for the Hawks as 6 players were announced to the Pro Bowl.
Hasselbeck
Jones (big shock)
Kerney
Peterson
Tatupu
Trufant
A great list and I think all of them deserve it. I'm really glad Hasselbeck made it, with no running game Matt was awesome.
All 4 defensive players are starters. Oh and I hate the Mariners.
