Spencer, Wahle likely headed to IR

Never ending injuries

I suppose that there's not too much to lose at this point by letting Vallos and Willis finish the season out.  I just hope that Hasselbeck doesn't pay for it.

Edit by John Morgan: This should be the cue to bench Matt Hasselbeck. Steven Vallos was awful against Dallas, perhaps best evidenced by nose tackle Tank Johnson and inside linebacker Bradie James three sacks. Nose tackle Jay Ratliff added two stops, a tip and a tackle for a loss of two. Hasselbeck was under siege all game and much of the pressure started up the gut.

Not only should Seattle bench Hasselbeck, it should bench Walter Jones. I've explained why teams can't tank, but given the age and injury history of each, this is entirely justifiable and shouldn't been seen as anything but prudence. Sean Locklear can start at left tackle.

Benching Hasselbeck and Jones is somewhat far fetched, but starting Mansfield Wrotto is not. At 2-10 and no longer fielding a competitive team, it's time Seattle sends in the clowns. Something to root for. Something to stare at other than the broken back quarterback and his three ring suckus.

On a final note, Spencer's injury strengthens Seattle's need at center. Oregon's Max Unger is a venerable center prospect, played two seasons at left tackle and has the size, strength and athleticism to play left guard. He's an excellent pull blocker and his stock would be higher if he wasn't typecast as a center and didn't snap to Jeremiah Masoli. A team rarely gets a chance to cover two positions with one pick, but Unger in the early second round could do that. Should he play left guard, he could pick up line calling from Spencer.

So I was at the Miami game

Man, was it hot there. I'm as red as a lobster. I don't really have anything noteworthy to add concerning the game, I believe that has already pretty much been taken care of.  There are just a couple of things that irritate me that made me want to crack skulls at the game.

-Don't berate your own team. yeah, groan and look exasperated, boo if a player really needs it ( 37 in 06 and 07), but don't scream obsceneties at your players. There was a Seattle fan screaming at Colbert after that drop, calling him every name in the book, yelling how worthless he was. I was in the second row behind the Seattle bench.  You can't tell me the players can't hear that. Sure...after years of playing, they can tune out the crowd, but there is no reason for that.

-Another thing...same dude was doing this: "Yeah, we suck, you guys are gonna kick our ass" (talking to a Dolphins fan) "yeah, we're SO BAD this year."  Look, I realize that what was happening is a subconcious effort to spell the doom and gloom, but Jesus.  We're there to win, not to give the Dolphin fans handjobs under the bleachers.

Ok, on to another thing that makes me cringe. Why, oh why, do people feel the need to wear random jerseys to games? I saw a Colts jersey, two Giants jerseys, someone reppin' Walter Payton, a few random colleges, and even some poor schmuck wearing the tar black and piss yellow #7 of Ben Roesthlisberger. My question is why?  I just don't get it.

Oh, and Owen Schmitt is a frickin bad ass.  Whenever he got a carry, we would yell "Beeeeeer Truuuuck!"  I love the dude.  And his mohawk.

My trip to Raymond James

So, my fiancee and I went down to Tampa to tailgate and watch the game, as we always do whenever Seattle comes anywhere near this wretched corner of the country.  It was the first time I have been to Raymond James stadium.  These are just some of my thoughts on the experience.

The Good: The Hawks warmed up in the end zone that we were posted at.  We were four rows back from the field, so when I yelled "T.J" and flexed at him, he pointed and nodded at me.  Pretty cool.  I met Steve Vallo's dad outside the stadium.  Cool guy. Had I put away maybe one more Red Stripe, I would have asked him if we could go sit with him and the rest of the Seahawks people.

The Bucs cheerleaders are hot. Goodness gracious. I mean, I went to UF and went to a lot of games at the Swamp and always saw our hot cheerleaders, but these chicks were on a whole different level.

The Bad: I know not all Bucs fans are bad, but we definitely have been around better people at other stadiums.  There were a couple of fights the broke out in our section, and more than once we were cursed at and talked shit to by our hosts.  I can take a good ribbing, all in fun, but you don't have to get offensive.

Jerramy Stevens actually caught a few balls.  Nice that he remembered how to after forgetting in XL.

The Ugly: At this game, they were honoring Mike Alstott, the whiter and not as talented version of Mack Strong or Lorenzo Neal. It was basically a three-hour fellatiation session.

I was really hoping for a better showing out of the Seahawks, but the Bucs have a pretty good defense, and our offense is essentially pieced together at this point. It was really aggravating watching Jeff Garcia complete short pass after short pass into the shallow inside of our secondary while our offense sat on the sidelines and tried in vain to stay limber.

McMuffin waived. Will Herring back from PUP

RENTON, Wash. -- Special teams standout and linebacker Will Herring has been added to the Seattle Seahawks active roster for the first time this season.

The Seahawks also waived wide receiver Billy McMullen on Saturday.

Herring had been on the physically unable to perform list with a condition that was causing chronic muscle pulls.

McMullen broke his right pinkie in practice Thursday. He played in four games after being signed as a free agent last month and was second among Seattle's wide receivers with seven receptions. McMullen is the seventh Seahawks wide receiver injured this season.

The Seahawks play at Tampa Bay on Sunday.

John, just some questions of you get bored

As soon as the draft is over, I immediately start thinking about what is coming next for the Seahawks, and for next year, we have a lot of change coming.  Your insight into the Hawks has been a blessing to read, so I'm just curious of what you think next year might hold.

With Mora taking over as head coach, how will the offense change? I never followed the Falcons, so I'm not sure of the impact there.  They also didn't have a traditional qb in Michael Vick, so it's hard to judge that team's offense against ours. With Holmgren's departure, what are the chances that John Marshall will be staying around?  Will we finally be free of him? De Haven is likely finished regardless of who the coach is next season, but who do you see taking over for these guys?

Is Ray Willis our next RG?  He has been pretty good filling in for Locklear, and with Sims' spotty play, it seems like Willis could be auditioning for the starting RG spot for the rest of the year and into next year.

Everyone seems to have the same opinion of Brian Russell.  Is he benched this year if his play stays the same?  What are the chances of a new FS for next year? Along the same lines, Rocky and Hill are both in their contract years. With Hawthorne emerging, do you think Hill will leave in free agency? Who do you think will be key departures after this season?

Ruskell has done a pretty good job of getting talent on tihe defensive side of the ball, but will we finally see some draft picks or free agent pickups for the offense? Engram is likely gone after this season, as is Morris. How long will Big Walt play? I personally thought it was foolish of Ruskell to pass on so much college talent when this latest draft was so QB-deep.

I know this is a lot...but I'm at work and bored.

Madden 09

Seriously. Another new roster update came out a few nights ago. Why can't they get this stuff right? Who is in charge of updating rosters? It is woefully lacking in accuracy.

Yes, it's that cool

So, being from Portland and moving to the blasted hellscape that is Hell's Waiting Room (Florida), I obviously missed seeing my Seahawks for the past several years. Yeah, I'd get the big games, Monday Night and whatever, but generally, my Sundays were full of flipping back and forth between Jags and Bucs games, whichever made me less nauseated.

No more. I came across this site, which has become my salvation. I know that there are people on this site with the same problem as me...live outside of the Pac Northwest, and you're stuck watching teams you don't like (unless you have Sunday Ticket).

On this site, you can download any NFL games, college games, the football shows, etc. And there is a dedicated Hawks fan named Kinison who dutifully records and shares his HD Hawks games with the rest of us.

Enjoy, and remember to share the wealth...don't just download and stop seeding.
