Just curious. These words exist simply to fulfill the 75 word requirement. Did I mention I hate the requirement. I think that if you want to post a quick-hitter like this, you should be able to. I think that most blogs have decent enough leadership to weed out the fanposts that suck and to find the ones that are really good. Because some of those may be below 75 words.

The 49ers fired coach Mike Nolan today, after starting 2-5 on the year. The 49ers organization felt like there was no direction, which is evident through their five straight losing seasons...and a sixth on the way. Assissant Mike Singletary is the new coach, hoping to turn around the 49ers much like Haslett has done with the Rams...fat chance.

The Rams still have two games remaining with the 49ers this season.

Cards take this one 8-3. A decent pitching performance by Wellemeyer after the early stuggles. The bullpen did unusually well, with Franklin shutting them down in the eighth when it really mattered. The offense has finally broken out of their recent stuggles with 20 runs in 2 games. The Cards are now 3.5 games out of first and 1.5 game out of the wild card pending the outcome of the Cubs vs. Brewers game.

The Cards are up 3-2 going into the bottom of the fifth. Wellemeyer aka Colonel is really struggling to throw strikes but has struggled through five innings so far. Wonder what TLR's TTTCBN combination will be tonight with a one run lead. Hopefully they can hold it. In case you haven't heard, Mitchell Boggs will be starting the game tommorrow night. Not my first choice but whatever, I'm just trying to get 75 words.

The Cardinals are late-inning wonders so far in the 2nd half --- 4 runs in the 8th inning the other night, 7 runs after the 8th inning today. But Isringhausen . . . . . great run but it's over, big guy.

Ray Durham has been dealt to the Brewers for players that are not known at this time. The Brewers are in San Francisco this weekend, but Durham is not expected to play for either team on Sunday.

Obviously, this is another blow to the Cardinals. Ray Durham is a Cardinal killer, and now we got to go against him another 10 times this year. Does this put more pressure on Mo to make a move for a bat? As always, I hope he doesn't do anything desperate.
