Jos? Miguel Romero, Seahawks beat reporter for the Times, says the Seahawks have released veteran punter Tom Rouen.
This is not a gigantic surprise. The Hawks picked Wake Forest punter Ryan Plackemeier in the 7th round of the '06 draft, which probably spelled the 38-year-old Rouen's release. Plackemeier will compete with Gabe Lindstrom for the position at the Cheney camp this summer.
Rouen came into the league with the Broncos in 1993, and he's been with the Seahawks on and off since 2003. His '04 season was cut short by a bad hamstring, but Rouen was re-signed by the Hawks last October to replace Leo Araguz after the first four games of '05.
That's all from the sexy, intrigue-filled world of NFL punters.
