I have two items. Extremely small ones. They reveal absolutely nothing in the areas of coaching, strategy, personnel changes, ticket sales, or FieldTurf.
- The P-I's Jim Moore recounts Monday's Bryce Fisher Celebrity Golf Tournament in Newcastle, Wash. This was a benefit for Gilda's Club Seattle, a great organization supporting cancer victims and their families. Among the choice one-liners:
"I just had a golf cart run over my foot," KJR's Dave Mahler told his listeners.
"Why didn't it run over his mouth?" the guy next to me said.
- Searching for an excuse to get down to Tacoma, City of the Future? Fret no further: This coming Saturday, June 24 will be "Seattle Seahawks Day" at the Tacoma Rainiers baseball game versus the Portland Beavers.
Tacoma native Marcus Trufant will be there, along with the SeaGals and the Blue Thunder drum corps. There will also be a breakout of autograph signings. Proceeds will benefit The Trufant Family Foundation, Marcus's youth charity.
The Rainiers play their home games at Cheney Stadium, which thankfully does not have a Texas Quail Hunt game booth on the premises.
