Locklear's DV Case Nearing Resolution

On his Seahawks Insider blog, the News-Trib's Mike Sando reports that a Seattle judge will probably make a ruling tomorrow regarding the domestic violence case of Seahawks OT Sean Locklear.

Locklear pled not guilty earlier this year to charges that he attacked his girlfriend outside Belltown Billiards in January, after the playoff win over the Redskins.

Sando reports that jury selection in the case, scheduled for this week, was canceled in favor of a disposition hearing. As I understand it (correct me if I'm wrong), a disposition hearing is a judicial determination of the facts as they stand in the case, wherein the judge makes a recommendation of how to proceed.

Sando says it's wait-and-see until tomorrow. My layman's legal hunch tells me, with a postponed jury selection and the alleged victim's refusal to cooperate with the investigation, prosecutors will probably be unable to pursue the case any further and the judge will drop the charges.

Even still, don't bet the whole house on it. Maybe a birdhouse. But not a big one.
